Maybe a spoon....looks great though. Sharen how about a crack in the wall or a fly on the cup

hmm, make the light a natural "afternoon light and add something that gives a shadown from off scene. Like light coming through a window or something. That'd be my suggestion. For what it's worth. :c)

This pic sucks compared to yours, but...it took 5 min, gimme a break. This may not work for you but...I, myself, really like the look of a semi-gloss to gloss painted wall. I try to give it a irregular bump, and some slight reflection, probably too much reflection. I think your wall texture/bump looks slightly too uniform. That's really all, it looks great! The diffused lighting is spot-on. (Link is another pic with painted wall) AgentSmith

Maybe a coffee ring :) the coffee pot, a vase of flowers? Maybe an empty bottle of scotch on its side like the early morning hangover 'cure'? Glare at it abit something'll come up for you. Goodluck, looks good! Like yer woodgrain.

Try to think what you are trying to express and you will get a better idea what your picture needs. Do a search on "Still Life" in google and see what happens.
