I've posted this and another in the gallery...I love the look of polaroid transfers, such beautiful images can be made from that technique. For those who have never heard of it...it's simply taking the emulsion side of a polaroid instant pic and transfering the emulsion onto another type of paper, usually watercolor paper. Unfortunately I don't have the equipment needed to try my hand at it right now...so I'm trying to see if I can replicate that look with Photoshop. I think it's close but may still need a bit of work, my own personal thought is that the edging is a start but the main part of the pic needs some scratching up and fading. I'm going to keep working on this...and when finances allow I may go out and buy myself that polaroid camera.

I have never seen an actual polaroid transfer myself, but I've heard about that technique, and I don't know if my friend had any success with it. Mich, this pic is BREATH-TAKING! I really think it's beautifully postworked and composed. I love potpourri looking shots like these... :-) (*

I don't know this technique either but it sounds interesting. This is a lovely image Michelle, I like the fading at the edges but I think you're right it needs something to make that more a part of the image. Gorgeous depth of colour you have got there ; )

lovely job on the color and the fade.... you could achieve the scratchyy effect on a separate layer and then put it behind the flower layer so it does'nt overwhelm. it's a beautiful image just on its own right now.:)

This is rather neat Michelle. have you considered a gradient fade effect at the edges. The edges are nice but they are so stark the become a border. Bsteph

Michelle! This is REALLY somethin' else! Just beautiful!!! Love them colors and the "look" you gave to this. If ya don't mind me askin', How many layers did ya actually use to create this??? Was this one main image or did ya use a couple? L8r!

Most of the transfers I've seen have been pulled onto paper with a "tooth", like water color paper. Experiment with a texture applied to image. ... and if you figure out a way to put a few wrinkle folds in the image I would be most impressed :o) Beautiful image as it is.

Michelle, when I first read your message here and saw the image, I hesitated for a moment as I remembered and thought that "polaroid emulsion lifting" and "polaroid image transfer" were the same... ...But, a short search in the net showed that they are quite related, yet have their unique differences. Thanks for letting me update my info about these subjects... :) As for the image here... ...I think this is realy beautiful, esp. for the borders, colors, and the blurred and tiny flowered foliage. Above is a link that I found while I was searching in Google for "polaroid transfer", yet you may already be knowing this...

Doruk...thank you for that link...beautiful work there and some examples for me to try and copy...I see what you mean now about the scratches on the other being to similar or blocky...these are excellent samples for me to emulate.
