That's not bad. My son is in Kuwait - their high was 117 Farenheit. On top of that they get to carry 80 pound packs and play war games. Oh the life of a grunt. Peggy (who lives in nice comfortable San Diego where it is 78 degrees)

Oh dear, you people have no imagination. Forget thermometer readings. How about: It's so hot Poser dog is panting! It's so hot Vicki refuses to pose until she gets an air conditioner! It's so hot that my Daz Dragon is breathing snow! (Now THAT'S hot!) I expect better from a community of artists, damn it!
No need for the Weather chanel anymore, I see. In Quebec, this morning, I could see my breath. Flakes in the air last week and frost on tomato shoots. Sun peeked for the first time in 2 weeks today. Lots of T-Storms. One o' them took out my Ricoh. Jim: Sure that wasn't Bob Hope? Q

Last summer in Australia (Brisbane for those that know where that is) it was 42C (108F) inside our house.

Well, I can't beat Kuwait, but we're at 43C(110F)here. We're not anywhere near a record temperature, either. We hit 38C (100F) in March this year. (Didn't hit a record for that, either.) We expect to be above 38C until at least late September. The first one who says, "But it's a dry heat," will be shot. Repeatedly. Then laid out on the pavement to fry with the eggs. (Every year, people put eggs out to see if they'll cook on the pavement. No, we don't eat them afterwards!)
I live in Bullhead City, Arizona. Its up to 120 or so now in the day. Two summers ago it hit in the high 130's for part of the afternoon. I thought I needed a space suit to walk around in outside. Going to lunch, the car thermometer actually hit 141 for a few minutes, but held at 138-139 mostly to and from the cafe. Now, this would be probably a world record, except, its bad for tourists so those temps are NEVER reported. Official temps don't ever top 128 or so around here because that's too scary for the visitors. Truth is, its dang hot here.
Thanks Jack!
Here's the formula for correctly guessing the temperature in Scotland...First of all, find Hawaii, then divide the average temperature by approximately 50%...add that to the millimetre density of thick, woolly socks (allowing for the wind-chill factor, of course) and there you have it! - absolutely blooming freezing! ;-)
