Well, let see the subject of this thread is "HOT" and it probably refers to Fahrenheit, cause 32 degrees Fahrenheit is cold....LOL...just a note...Sharen

Hiram ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 12:02 PM

Got up to 97F here in Seattle last week. Of all places to have a one-day heatwave. It was 54 the next day.

twillis ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 12:21 PM

Nah, Farenheit vs Celsius is a fair question, on account of the original poster might be a penguin or something. Heck, much over 32F and I start to spoil, so it might qualify as hot.

x2000 ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 12:49 PM

It's in the seventies and gorgeous here in my little corner of New York state, so HA! :P

x2000 ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 12:53 PM

Um, since this IS the Poser forum, I guess we need to put something to do with Poser in here to make it legitimate, so, um, uh...let me see here... how can I put Mike's genitals on Vicki? Or Stephanie. Or the Poser cat. Or something.

guslaw ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 1:04 PM

No, the reason for this thread is to explain why Poser chix in temples have to run around nakkid. It IS summer. It gets hot in the summer and everyone knows that temples aren't air conditioned....

Peggy_Walters ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 1:51 PM

That's not bad. My son is in Kuwait - their high was 117 Farenheit. On top of that they get to carry 80 pound packs and play war games. Oh the life of a grunt. Peggy (who lives in nice comfortable San Diego where it is 78 degrees)

don't forget it gets difficult to hold your sword when it gets hot even inside the temple and naked Rob

guslaw ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 2:02 PM

117F (that's 47C)- WOW, now that's HOT! FYI: C = ((5/9) x F) - 32 F = ((9/5) x C) + 32 ...do your own math guys.

guslaw ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 2:06 PM

...sorry folks, that should be: C = ((5/9) x (F - 32)

davidm ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 2:09 PM

I'm in Scotland...and once the sun came out! (I think it was 1976 or thereabouts) ;-) Dave :-)

Jim Burton ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 2:42 PM

When I was in Vietnam it often got to 200, or even 300 degrees, those were "wartime" degrees though, heavily discounted back in the states. There was a stripper in a bar one night that had her breasts melt, though. ;-)

aleks ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 3:05 PM

wow, now, THAT was a thunderstorm :::ears ringing::: back to normal 24 c again... i think that humidity is a real killer. was once in greece on 42 c and it felt not as bad as 32 in germany.

x2000 ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 4:02 PM

Oh dear, you people have no imagination. Forget thermometer readings. How about: It's so hot Poser dog is panting! It's so hot Vicki refuses to pose until she gets an air conditioner! It's so hot that my Daz Dragon is breathing snow! (Now THAT'S hot!) I expect better from a community of artists, damn it!

miryam ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 6:00 PM

It's 18F and raining here in Ireland - er what is a sun! LOL!

quixote ( ) posted Tue, 18 June 2002 at 7:03 PM

No need for the Weather chanel anymore, I see. In Quebec, this morning, I could see my breath. Flakes in the air last week and frost on tomato shoots. Sun peeked for the first time in 2 weeks today. Lots of T-Storms. One o' them took out my Ricoh. Jim: Sure that wasn't Bob Hope? Q

Well, I can't beat Kuwait, but we're at 43C(110F)here. We're not anywhere near a record temperature, either. We hit 38C (100F) in March this year. (Didn't hit a record for that, either.) We expect to be above 38C until at least late September. The first one who says, "But it's a dry heat," will be shot. Repeatedly. Then laid out on the pavement to fry with the eggs. (Every year, people put eggs out to see if they'll cook on the pavement. No, we don't eat them afterwards!)

EricofSD ( ) posted Wed, 19 June 2002 at 1:38 AM

I live in Bullhead City, Arizona. Its up to 120 or so now in the day. Two summers ago it hit in the high 130's for part of the afternoon. I thought I needed a space suit to walk around in outside. Going to lunch, the car thermometer actually hit 141 for a few minutes, but held at 138-139 mostly to and from the cafe. Now, this would be probably a world record, except, its bad for tourists so those temps are NEVER reported. Official temps don't ever top 128 or so around here because that's too scary for the visitors. Truth is, its dang hot here.

SergeantJack ( ) posted Thu, 20 June 2002 at 1:56 AM

Easier way to convert from C to F: Multiply C temp by 2. (30x2 =60) Subtract 10% of that. (60-6 =54) Add 32. (54+32=86) Therefore, 30C = 86F. That's not the temperature here in northern Japan, though. Last I checked, it was 52 degrees F.

davidm ( ) posted Thu, 20 June 2002 at 8:10 AM

Thanks Jack!

Here's the formula for correctly guessing the temperature in Scotland...First of all, find Hawaii, then divide the average temperature by approximately 50%...add that to the millimetre density of thick, woolly socks (allowing for the wind-chill factor, of course) and there you have it! - absolutely blooming freezing! ;-)

Okay, I give up! -- Who was the hottest Renderosity dude?!

Dave :-)

aleks ( ) posted Thu, 20 June 2002 at 8:38 AM

lol, dave i don't want to be picky, but dividing something by 0,5 (50 %) multiplys it by 2. but maybe that's the reason scotts don't ware panties... ;)

davidm ( ) posted Thu, 20 June 2002 at 9:21 AM

LOL! Thanks aleks! Must check my solar-powered calculator...AH! That's the problem! Ha ha! ;-) Dave :-)
