is there a way to customize bryce's interface? i just want it so that the tool bar is all ways showing.

On my screen the "Tool Bar" is always showing. If you're referring to the Rotate, Resize and all of those commands, then yes they are on the screen.

Depending on your resolution, you can open all the toolbars side by side or below one another and move them around. Its an undocumented feature and I remember doing it. That said, I don't have it written down and haven't done it in a year or so. Sorry for the bait and switch, but it was on a thread back in the B4 days here on 'osity. Well, you didn't have much to do with your evenings except to read the 5.2 million posts here, right?
