I created a map using UVMapper and edited it in PSP5. From what I can tell the map and the actual render do not correspond. I have attached the render. If you have any idea what the trouble could be please respond.

2 possibilities come to mind: 1) You didn't save the model when you created and saved the texture map in UV Mapper. The model needs to have the texture map coordinates "baked in." 2) You moved around pieces of the template in PSP5. You have to paint where the texture map is. Moving pieces of the template around, re-sizing, etc. will not work. The model will remember the original location of the template and will use whatever is there, regardless of where you moved the template pieces to. (Imagine drawing a map of your neighborhood, then scanning it in and moving parts of the map around in PSP5. It may look pretty, but it won't correspond to where things are in real life.) I hope this makes sense.

I agree totally with Crescent. Couldn't have said it better myself....Sharen

While I'm sure they are good suggestions they don't seem to help. I saved the model and did not move things around in PSP. Whenever I render there is still a big black splotch in the middle of the picture where it shouldnt be. I didn't even use black in my texture map. Any more suggestions?

Site Admin

Take your model back into uv mapper and just press "insert". It's the key usually above the delete on your keyboard. Any degenerate facets will be repaired. This might be the case here.

Thanks. The "insert" idea helped a lot. I'm pretty sure the problem is fixed now.
