Okay, so I've been having some problems with texturing. Some people were helping me a while back. I've got a texture on Vicky. I've got a transparency map. It's getting exciting. Everything is rendering fine, except.... The eyebrows. The transparency map is working and everything is good, except that the skin under the eyebrows is acting REALLY weird. How can I make this normal?! How can I make these weird things go away and have it all be normal? In case the image doesn't go through, because I'm not entirely sure how this whole process works.... http://viv.rupture.net/still-irritating-render.jpg It's just a test render, trying to get the darn eyebrows to work. At least I've got the eyelashes and eyeballs working. It's a good start. ;D

Check the transparency settings: Eyebrows should be Trans min: 0% Trans max: 0% Trans falloff: 0% The texture should be the "head" texture map. Upper Eyebrows should be Trans min: 100% Trans max: 100% Trans falloff: 0% No texture map. Only set a transmap on the upper eyebrows, and only if you're using one. (From your render, I would guess it's the falloff setting that is wrong.)

Upper Eyebrows You might want to look over my tutorials if you haven't already.

Someone should create a MAT pose file just for the eyebrow and eyelash transparencies. It wouldn't stop new users from discovering the problem and asking for help, but it would make it much easier to fix. I'd write one, but I have no talent at painting eyebrow/eyelash transmaps, and I can't redistribute someone else's map.

Okay, here's what happens when I have... eyebrows: object color: white trans min: 0 trans max: 0 trans fallout: 0 no trans map, just texture map upper eyebrows: trans min: 100 trans max: 100 trans fallout: 0 no texture map, just trans map Could it be that I am just a defective render-er? ::cries::

So many things that can go wrong .... Is the object colour for the SkinHead material white, also? If it isn't, that might explain why the brows and the rest of the head don't match. Which transmap are you using for the upper eyebrows? Make sure it's a Victoria head transmap, because Posette's transmaps are different. Is Victoria's BrowsGone dial set to 0 or 1? At a value of 1, the upper eyebrows are hidden inside the head, and no amount of transparency adjustment will help.

I also tried setting the SkinHead material and Eyebrows material the same. I'm using a transmap that came with the skin, and I don't have a "BrowsGone" dial. This is very saddening =(

The brows and the skinhead have different colours set: that much is clear from your image above. For the majority of skin textures, the colour for both should be white, with highlight and ambient colurs set to black and reflective colour set to white. If you're using Victoria 2 you do have a "Brows Gone" dial: it's below the face shape dials but above the eye shape dials on the head. If you use Victoria 1 it's called "Brows In" not "Brows Gone", but it does the same thing. Set the upper eyebrow colour to something like bright green and turn off the transparency. You should see two ugly green streaks above her eyes. If you don't see that, you need to adjust the brows gone dial until you do. Then go back into Render -> materials. Make sure the skin and eyebrow colours are the same. Change the Upper Eyebrows to whatever colour you want the brows to be, then set the transmap on the upper eyebrows with the settings given earlier in this thread. Then render. If you still see no eyebrows, the problem is probably with the transmap itself. I realise this is a stupid thing to say, but do make sure you are using a transmap that actually does have eyebrow transparencies on it. If it doesn't have them (in black and white, upper right corner of the map), then it's not going to work, whatever settings you use.
