Subject: What does "on sale" mean?

Anthony Appleyard ( ) posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 11:53 PM · edited Sat, 15 February 2025 at 4:04 PM

In the Marketplace, there is this note: a dot and "Denotes an item that is currently on sale! Note: If an item was $5.00 it will not show as on sale, because that is the minimum amount.". What does "on sale" mean? Here in England "on sale" means "people can buy it", but people can buy all the marketplace items, not only those marked with the dot.

on sale means the price is lower than the regular price for a limited time. from a day a week a month or a year.

At a discount, reduced, marked off.

Can you define "exact change" outside of cultural guidelines?

Exact change [guy]: when you get the belt and shirt and socks to coordinate.

Exact change [woman]: what we can count in your wallet from a mile away.

You can get a shirt and socks that match? Wow. ;)

It means that it's $15 today and all the people who paid $20 yesterday are really pissed.

ronknights ( ) posted Sat, 29 June 2002 at 1:54 PM

Exact change means that if an item is $15.95, you can't pay with a $20 bill. (At least in any store where I've worked or purchased items.)
