I've been playing with the Anim8or 3D modelling freebie and created this prop. I would like to texture map it, so after converting to OBJ format and using UVMapper to create a map (saving the mapped prop), I get this when I render. Does anyone know how I can fix this? It looks like part of the objects vertices are backwards.... Krel

Are you talking about the black area or the hole?

The black part is the problem.

I've never seen the "black poly" problem so large before. From this angle it doesn't look like reversed normals though. I seem to remember one of the solutuions had to do with turning shadow-casting off for the prop. Does that area look "empty" or "see-thru" or does it just render black? -JH.

I'll try these suggestions......thanks for them.....the area just renders black it looks fine otherwise, no seethru sections. Krel
