Here is a little image I made in a couple of hours. I have modified it several times because of the sky. I wanted better clouds and this is what I came up with. Any comments??

I think pinhead has a tutorial up on clouds over at www.3dcommune.com that is a killer tut. If you need the url let me know.

I love this scene--really pretty. So how did you get those clouds? I'm very new to Bryce and haven't fooled around much with skies, but yours doesn't look like any of the presets.

Thanks for all the nice comments....EricofSD I would very much like the url.....Sharen I really appreciate your comment! You are great! Willowjune, as far as the clouds...I just made a bunch of stones and applied "fuzzy cloud" in the volume material area and played with the material editor just a bit. I then highlighted all of the stones and used the 3d disperse size and rotate tool. I like the clouds but I can see where they just don't look right. What kind of things do you see in the clouds??? I can see 3 dogs and a human ear....Well that's what I see. Again, thanks to all for your wonderful comments!! It's because of you all that I keep trying......:-) Joey

I used stones for the clouds in this pic too. Great idea.

Wings were done in an abandonware program called Matisse in Gray, then imported to the lattice lab. You can't find it on the web save for one site and I don't have the url, sorry. Do a search in google for it. you can do the wings in Photoshop etc using the Peter Sharp bat wings tut though.

Extrusiontek, the clouds are very good looking, but a little bit too regular. Beside the things that others recommended, you could download a freeware called Bantam3D Scatter from http://www.bantam3d.com/. It creates clones of objects, varying the size and orientation, so you get something more random, and groups them as a single importable object. But more clones means a bigger file, of course. BTW, in my experience, lattices make better clouds than stones.

Thanks for the info on how you made them. I'll try it.

Aye, there's many ways to make clouds in Bryce, I just use a little digital camera and make Skypheres. It works pretty good, here's an example...

extrusiontek: Like it, I do. (The clouds are just a little too solid.) Eric: I really Like those wings. Very nice effect.

EricofSD-- I keep getting a weird 'Forbidden' screen when I try to access the tuts listed above...? I just bought Foleypro's Clouds for Poser, but haven't had time to play with it yet. Looks like it should work in Bryce, too. He gives you a bunch of nice jpegs of clouds in skies to work with. I also read a tutorial about applying images to sym lattices that had some impressive illustrations with it, but I'll be darned if I can find it today (!!@*?!) He used more than one in some images and lit them really creatively...... I'll keep an eye out for it.
