I downloaded the Taylor (1.03?) upgrade after Codetwister left, so I sorta assumed that is how it worked, I could be wrong, though. I'm not pulling my stuff to put it anyplace else, incidently, but I have a feeling that SMMV will surface again, eventually. I'm thinking about moving SMV upmarket, so that would be even more reason to have a middle Supermodel, between the free one and the high-priced spread! Thanks guys!

I guess jimjur mad a mistake, he is right about there is not stooges there, but the stooges I think he was talking about are other stooges that are very common to find over this place.

I'm going to wait till the end of the month to close it down incidently, easier on the bookeeping and all that stuff, so think of it as a "Going Out of Business Non-sale" till then! As to why I'm leaving, I'm not mad at anybody or anything, all the staff here are great, just the store is really geared more for newer merchants that can produce a lot of stuff, I'm a slow worker, plus I have two other stores to fill. Gladiator- I do put a little logo here and there on some of the clothing items, and insides of some of teh shoes, it say either "D D" or "Digital Dreams"

Jim, BTW, I do hope you intend to stay around here. I haven't bought any of your Super Model line, but I had purchased some of your previous clothing work for Posette. Quality stuff as I am sure your SM line is. Frankly, I think we need people like you right now to help keep us all on a even keel. We already have those who run into "opposing" sites making guerilla attacks and strikes. We need talented folks like you, PhilC and many others to help keep us all above this factional garbage. If people like you who provide us with the fantastic tools we use can do it, there is no reason the rest of us can't. I appreciate your explanation as to why you are doing what you are doing. Three main C1rcle: Moe, Larry and Curly. Shemp was a off and on additional stooge that took Larry's place on occassion. I think there may have been a 5th, but I'm not absolutely certain... As far as I recall, they never had all four stooges in an episode at once - it was always three of them. [MAN! Did I watch too much Tv as a child or what? snicker]

Actually, it was originally Moe, Shemp and Larry. Then Shemp got sick and Curly (Shemp and Moe's younger brother) took over. After Curly died, he was replaced by Curly Joe and then Joe Bessemer. So actually, there were a total of SIX stooges. Kate (now, who can tell me Moe, Shemp, Curly and Larry's last names? hehe)

None of you have got it exactly right -

At first, it WAS Moe, Larry, and Shemp. They were originally called "Ted Healy's Stooges". Ted Healy was a big-name stage comedian during the 20's. He gave Moe, Larry, and Shemp their start.

Then, Shemp left the Stooges in order to pursue solo comedy acting - he solo'ed in a couple of hundred or so now-forgotten "B" comedies during the 30's & 40's.

Moe then picked his younger brother, "Babe", as Curly was called by the family, to replace Shemp as the third Stooge. The Stooges then left Ted Healy to go solo themselves.

Ted Healy was later kicked and beaten to death outside of a bar following an arguement with three college men.

During the mid-30's to the late 40's, Curly was the third (and the most popular) Stooge. However, in real life, Curly was not a happy man. Curly was emotionally severly depressed. He was married and divorced several times, he drank heavily, and he partied hard every night - frequently dancing and drinking until past 3:00AM, and then going to work the next morning.

This lifestyle took a toll on Curly's health. Curly suffered a stroke while filming "Half-Wits Holiday" in 1946. Curly suffered several more strokes in the years following. He died in 1952 at age 48.

After Curly could no longer act for health reasons, Moe decided to bring Shemp back to the Stooges. So now it was once again Moe, Larry, and Shemp - the original three.

Shemp was with the Stooges from 1947 to 1955. Then, in 1955, while riding in a taxicab with friends, Shemp died suddenly of a heart attack. He was 60 years old.

For a brief time, Joe Besser took over the slot as the third Stooge. Joe was never a good fit. He didn't like being hit.

Finally, the last Stooge, Joe DeRita (Curly Joe), joined the Stooges for their final years.

In 1970, Larry suffered a stroke which left him unable to perform. The Three Stooges never acted as a group again.

Larry passed away in 1975. Moe died about two months later.

Yes Xenophonz rocks, that is one great epitome! Hey, my nine year old daughter just howls with laughter watching the stooges...I think curly in particular will always be typical to so many "slapstick" cartoons that kids watch even today so they can relate easily... I am not certain if Laurel and Hardy, (wondering if Xenophonz has another wonderful synopsis regarding these...hehe), or Abbot and Castello or even the Marx brothers will ever hold up quite as well as time passes...

Jack, Certainly, Abbot & Costello, and Laurel & Hardy will always have their loyal core of fans but I think they suffer by comparison to the boys simply because of a lack of exposure. Neither A&C or L&H have the body of work available to 3 Stooges afficianados and the films that are available don't translate to television (especially cable) as well. The Marx brothers are an entirely diferent phenomenon, however. For evidence of that all you have to do is look around the Poser community... we have a Groucho, Harpo, Gummo & Chico among usernames here & there are several members who are using variants of Groucho movie names (Rufus T Firefly, etc) or have Groucho quotes as 'sig' lines. While they do, as a group, suffer from the same problem as A&C & L&H, their current, ongoing popularity is (& IMHO will continue to be) driven by one member, Groucho. Between his quiz show & solo concert performances Groucho has pretty much assured that he, (& the Marx brothers by association) will remain in the public consciousness. Just as a side note... think we've derailed this thread far enough to get it moved to OT? :-)

Sorry, but I don't have much info on A&C, L&H, or Marx Brothers - I'm not a particular fan of any of them.

I am a fan of the Stooges.

However, I do know that Groucho did not enjoy a pleasant retirement. As an old man, he was abused by people that supposedly took care of him. It's hard to picture the smooth talker as a senile old man. His "caregivers" forced him to smoke pot - among many other mental and physical abuses.

So much for the advantages of fame.........
