This is for Ry who hates freakin rose pics....bwhahaha....you know who luvs ya babee....he reminded me that I had a bunch of these sitting on my hard drive. This is actually a scan, but using the transparency adapter to scan as a slide. I had read about this technique in a magazine and wanted to try it for myself. It seems like something I'd like to experiment with a bit more, looks like the results could be interesting. I did some post-work in photoshop with the diffuse glow filter, but other than that this is pretty much what came from the scanner. I was having fun playing with color shifts and saturation but I didn't save any of them.

Wonder if it would hold still enough for two scans; one reflected and one transparent? That might be fun to combine with various effects in PShop. As it is, this is kind of neat. Sort of looks Japanese for some reason.

OOOOOO. This is neat. Reminds me of kinda a X-Ray view of a flower somehow. Must be the transparency. Bsteph

This work is beautiful, and Star is really right that dealing with scanning is just lovable..!!

I also have used transparency adapter several times to provide back-lighting, and the link above leads anyone interested to a work of mine as such...

Nowadays, I'm searching for high quality flatbed scanners with like 2400x4800 ppi resolution powers.
Epson and Canon has some models wich maybe find in my country, but they are extremely expensive for me to afford for the time being.
My primary objective for having such a scanner is to be able to scan rather tiny shells, pebbles, seeds, insects, etc. ...
...To use the scanner for, say, 'microscanography', and magnify those tiny worlds.

I think it was in the May or June issue of National Geographic that an artist was introduced for his 'macro-scans' of various types of moths...
...Was magnificient..!

Anybody having such powerful scanner and would like to try such experiments..?

Michelle, Beautiful image. On a dark note, it sort of reminds me of a white rose stained in blood. (The blood is dried and old hence the dark color)
