1- you might want to roate the texture. to do that, click on the "Effects" tab on Material Editor. then, choose "Rotation" Roate Z if the texture is floor texture. 2- the reason it loses detail when you enlarge the texture is that the texture file itself is low res- meaning its a small file. try using high-res textures if you have any. most of my textures are 3000x3000 and larger. I suggest Marlin Studios (http://www.marlinstudios.com/home/home.htm).Take a look.

Create your own high resolution brick walls with this free software. GuittaI downloaded the brick maker to test it out a few days back. Yesterday, when I went to install it on my graphics machine (which is a standalone, not online), the executable install looked for a internet connection. I'm a bit suspicious about that, so am not installing it on this machine (my surfing machine). If anyone else is using it, I'd love to hear about it. Meanwhile, I am working on enlarging the texture. I will probably do a fill, and multiply the mosaic, at a fairly large size. I am learning how important high-resolution textures are vs the small 50x50 or 100x100 ones you find all over the net.
This is normal. They explain it in the read-me file. When you install the soft, not all available bricks (hundreds)are in your computer. When you choose a new one, the program downloads it. I have this soft for over one year now, no problem. You also should know that it is normally made for people who wants to build their own walls, not for 3D artists. :-)Guitta

I'm looking for a tutorial or other help with scaling and placing textures. For an example, the image at the link. 1. The floor in the foreground. This is an elongated cube, that is rotated. I would prefer the texture to be straight across from side to side, rather than diagonal. I know how to do this in Bryce, but can't figure it out in Vue. 2. Brick wall at the rear. This is a default texture in Vue, I think. Anyhow, I was fiddling with the scale in the little texture window, making it larger and smaller. But it seems to lose detail quickly when it's scaled up. Does anyone have a suggestion on dealing with this? Should I take the texture into Photoshop or PSP, and resize it there, then upload it to Vue? Or is there another approach?
