Theme 4: Elephant Jokes Okay, cast your votes! :) Lyrra "Didn't you know? Insanity is catching" Madril

superhero....i haven't done any actual figure stuff for ages and i like tonymouse's idea of unlikely hero's (("Yes, i really enjoy saving y'all" said Sarcasm Man)) Ps....did i miss who won the nature one?

hauksdottir ( ) posted Fri, 02 August 2002 at 4:12 PM

It would have been elephant jokes... but you added something with dragons, so it has to be Dragon Summer. :)

Patricia ( ) posted Fri, 02 August 2002 at 4:16 PM

"To Be Continued" fer sure. Are you psychic, Lyrra? Just today I began work on a humorous series based on NVIATWAS, and you just gave me a great idea for my second image...! so I'm ahead no matter which topic is chosen =; ^) Thank you!

Niles ( ) posted Fri, 02 August 2002 at 6:03 PM

After voting for Animals in last poll, I will just keep my mouth shut. Who was it who said " Never work with Animals and Kids"? Well After trying to pose that d#*% poser horse, I just threw in the towel. By the way who won? Niles

Musicat, I suspect that "to be continued" refers to the traditional cliff-hanger ending of each part in a series. Cliff-hanger did not get that name from the famous scene in the Sherlock Holmes' canon, but rather from films. I've seen series of Cisco Kid, Buck Rogers, etc., spread out over weeks, and it is very effective. The image of our heros in peril lingers quite nicely. If you watch an entire series in an evening, it just seems over-acted. You don't even need peril. Sometimes anticipation is better. As an example, we have an image of Mr Wile E Coyote strapping on his new rocket skiis and holding a match to them... a "to be continued" sign here would work because we don't don't quite what is going to happen (will they blow up immediately? will he get over the cliff edge first? will they work, but take him underground instead? will they just fizzle and the match blows up?) but we know that whatever it is, it is going to result in one charred coyote blinking pathetically at us. Lyrra, Well, I can find a dragon or two, but elephants are in short supply. I was thinking of leaving a trail of peanuts until I calculated the expense. Blown out on Superheros and as I saw every lost in space episode ever made cliff hangers aren't as interesting as they used to be. Dragons definately. Dragon Summer. -TJ

. . . or Wile E. Coyote on a motorcycle

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sat, 03 August 2002 at 5:57 AM

Ye gads! The box will have a pre-assembled motorcycle (just add gas) and a complete motorcycle rider's outfit: bandana, vest, and shades. He's learned his lessons well, and is leaving nothing to chance this time. Pity that he also left... shot of the empty(?) carton... to be continued.
