Subject: OK, I got the Saloon Girl, now what?

I've downloaded all the wonderful Saloon and Saloon Girl stuff from Poswerworld. I'm feeling like such a dummy. I read over the wonderful html readme file for the Saloon Girl skirt, and am still lost. Is she put together right? Does anyone have any Saloon Girl Poses? I used the Morph Targets for Vicky's shins, and she looks just a little too thin down by the boots. Has anyone else had any fun with the Saloon Girl? Do you care to share your experience and insights with this dummy? Do you want to share your renders?

I have a few Saloon Girl poses (for Vicky) in my gunslinger poses set at DAZ (she is drawing a concealed gun). If anyone else is interested in more Saloon Girl poses, let me know. Singing, drinking, serving drinks, plaing cards, fending off drunk cowboys...

Ron Knights (aka chrisjon1950) the best place to ask those questions would be at the PWFW forum, I would think. You've had Steve and Rena answer your questions there before.

Hey Don, I think alot of people would appreciate some more of your great poses. A couple more that come to mind would be a chorus line and perhaps a cat fight. Thanks Kevin

Actually, the best place I can think of to ask these questions would be right here. Far more people come to Renderosity on a daily basis. Besides, posts like this could well attract new members to PWFW. Don, I'd love any poses you might produce. I do plead poverty at this time. Hey, let's ditch the aka stuff... Let's just say that, like Many Other Renderosity members, I don't choose to use my real name for everyday functions. I was a little slow in seeing the desirability (spelling?) of such a decision. My "real name" is now reserved for more "business-like" functions, such as running my website(s). That's the way it is folks.

Ron.. you keep having problems with the simplest things! :) If the morph target for the shins to feet the boots seems too thin for you, use it at a less increament.. say 0,900 or 0,800! :) I think I've explained to you in the PWFW private forum that it doesn't matter which order you apply the figures and props at.. they all fall in place no matter which order you choose or how you mix and match! :) I guess this has been another of your bad days as nobody seems to have any problem with what you seem to get lost about on this specific item.. in fact I've already seen some stunning renders at the Gallery! :) Rena

I might humbly suggest it is better to provide your customers some elementary guidance rather than to comment on their apparent stupidity. That is one reason I'm coming to a more public forum.

Ron.. you admitted yourself that the skirt comes with a full html looong readme file including previews, explanations and suggestions! What more should I do.. especially as you constantly seem to be the only one with the complaints? :( You write tutorials.. yet I feel puzzled and wondering if you reade any on the basic simple stuff! :( The Renderosity forum yes.. IS visited by lots of more people.. but not all of them are PWFW members and own the models so they can hardly be of any help to you.. have you thought of that? :) If you wish to jumpt to conclusions is up to you.. it's just common sense all I ask for! :) Rena

You seem to have a real problem with helping people understand your product. That is part and parcal of running a business and providing customer service. In the past I've made several comments about some things that had confused me. Others said they had the same questions and concerns. Now let's stop the banter, and get to some productive conversation. I looked at your HTML document concerning the skirt, and remain confused.

Questor ( ) posted Sat, 03 August 2002 at 5:56 PM

No Rena doesn't have a problem with helping people understand her products, neither does Steve, but like a lot of people she does have a problem with some prat taking all their damn complaints, whinges and gripes "out of forum" and into the most public area they possibly can. Now, in respect of this dress. It's a poserworld item. Modelled by Steve Shanks, textured by Renapd. This is Renderosity, this is NOT poserworld. So, you want support on a product take it to the place it was made. Think about it for a change huh? Then perhaps you'll find a more tolerant Rena because she won't have to watch you sniping and washing your dirty laundry in public. I don't get it Ron. You said a while back you were going to stop this yet here you are again, sniping at them. Is this really what you want to do? Stir people up? Do we have to start facing off again? Now. You write tutorials yourself, so you already KNOW that sometimes things can be a little confusing. So, rather than leaping into this site or PoserPros, or whereever else your currently allowed to visit, hows about you take the product to the place you got it. Would you really buy something at Harrods and then take it back to Woolco for support and customer service? Get a grip Ron, please.

I have a grip. Let's see if I understand the double-standard here. We can announce PWFW products here at Renderosity. We can recommend PWFW memberships here at Renderosity. However, once we've paid our money, we can't talk about anything to do with PWFW outside of the confines of PWFW. If I want to post this same type of messages at PWFW, I need to upload the images to my own web site so they can be seen in the PWFW forum. I can only communicate with the limited number of people who might go to the PWFW Forum, and no one else, even if they are PWFW members and they come here. I'm not free to talk about anything PWFW does outside of PWFW?! I'm not free to ask others who might not be PWFW members for ideas of what I can do with this wonderful wardrobe? I can't ask someone who might not be a PWFW member if they might have made or might consider making a pose set or other items to go with this stuff? I'm not free to tell others I like this stuff, when it might attract new members? No I'm doing nothing wrong here. I am a customer, using the best method I know how to get the assistance I want and also trying to communicate with others in the best method I know how. If there is a problem with that, then it is YOUR problem, not mine.

Questor ( ) posted Sat, 03 August 2002 at 7:23 PM

You're taking it out of context as usual. You're comments above are asking for support on an item that was made by two people who have their own forum for exactly this sort of discussion. Not for you to draw Rena out so you can snipe at her and make snide remarks. Has it occurred to you how annoying it must be for Renderosity to have to act as tech support for sites that have nothing to do with them? You've already discovered how annoyed they get when people post adverts in the poser forum. This is no different. As for your other points, I'm afraid that's typical Ron sensationalism. Let's just blow the whole thing out of proportion huh? Now, you have a problem with the dress. Take it to Poserworld, it was MADE by them it was TEXTURED by them, it was DISTRIBUTED by them. If it was a renderosity store product I could perfectly understand asking questions here. As it is, it's not, so technically no, it doesn't belong here. So, instead of blowing things up to your own personal gripe session. Take your problems with the dress to Poserworld. I'm not going to get into it with you on your other points because you're being childish. No more posts here from me Ron, take it to poserworld and we'll see about fixing your "I dunno how it works" problems. OK? Hopefully a mod will lock this as it's irrelevant to this forum and I personally am sick of watching you snapping like a little dog at a good friend of mine.

I love this new outfit by PoserWorld and am frankly shocked at what has been said here. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=225433 http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=224947 I've had no problem using any portion of this outfit. The read me file that comes with the skirt is very detailed, explaining exactly what to do! The textures, as you can see from the images I did, are truly amazing. Another well done job by Rena and Steve with a HUGE thank you from me!!!

Re-read my initial post. I said I love these items, and have some questions concerning their use. I had some questions about whether anyone had made Poses (etc) to go with this stuff. Then I get insulted for not having the ability to understand some things apparently everyone else does. That certainly is not a positive response. Renderosity does not produce any items by itself. All items are produced by other companies or individuals, and some of those companies or individuals have their own web sites. Renderosity has always been a good place to go for help, to talk about products, etc. Now PWFW apparently doesn't like to make use of this great resource for help. But they will advertise here. The logic continues to escape me.

crisjon1950 (I like it - a play on Christian I assume?), I'd say it's high time you gave these brigands the back of your hand and refuse to do business with them anymore. I'll take the remainder of your subscription so it won't go to waste. Does $15.00 sound fair? On to matters of more importance, someone mentioned a serious and very important subject - Cat Fighting! Yes, definitely. Please include hair-pulling morphs for Koz's hair, slapping, spitting, Mimic ready cursing, and of course, clothes ripping morphs and grabbing... Oops, NOW will never renew my membership if they read this. Never Mind.

I've taken my questions to the PWFW forum. Now you can put another thread to rest.
