Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
You might wanna adjust the texture on your props, they look a bit like plastic instead of metal. S that shield made of wood or leather, either way a different texture with a bump map would make it look better. I like the pose of the guy with the short sword n shield. Is that a carpet or sand with a carpet on it. If its sand, then dust flying where they are moving would definitly look cool. But a lill change of texture between the carpet and sand would help. If thats only a carpet then a few "ripples" mightmake it look better. Anyway its a good start here
Nice starting image. I agree with Bladestorm about the "metal". Try setting it to quite a pale grey with white highlights and turning the highlight slider up to around 90%. Also try using one of the metallic reflection maps on the blade. Try converting the texture-map for the wooden part of the shield into a bump-map. The poses are excellent, although the guy with the spear seems slightly off-balance (IMHO). It might have something to do with the positioning of his feet - one foot in the air and right on toe-tips for the other foot. A bumpmap for the carpet will provide you with some creases. Do you plan on rendering this in Bryce? (Because that will get rid of your problems with the metal). Paul
(Sigh.) No Bryce. No have! But these are XLent bits of advice, which will appear when I replace this image. No carpet, Poser Ground. I like the idea of kicking up some dust tho. Some pose tweaking for spearman is also in order - I like the other one OK, but you're right about spearman. BTW, this raw effort took about 45 minutes. I will try to keep a running total for each iteration. Thanx!
