I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your kind words. It has been especially difficult for me lately providing free models to the community of graphic artists, but every so often a user sends a message such as yours and it makes me grateful that I made the decision to give as much as possible. Bandwidth issues have been very cumbersome as I am only limited to 5GBs per month, which can be consumed in a single evening by those in desperate need of files.

I will make sure to keep you posted on all the new free things that I offer the community. You seem to be an individual of the highest calibur and I implore you to share you intellect with those around you so that we may all become as wise and enlightened. Again, thank you and please stay well...

I'm thinking he didn't read your explanation or if he did, it went entirely over his head. As for your response, it's fine, but you did leave out some adjectives that I might have included. Of course, I'm a redhead, and prone to fierce overkill. I defer to your sense of tact and diplomacy. =)

Don't sweat him, the world is full of pricks. Luckily it's more full of (sadly often less vocal) nice people. If your reply doesn't work, do what I do and tell him to kiss your pale freckled ass. (Unless, of course, your ass is not pale or freckled, in which case insert the appropriate discriptors.)

No more fair than airing a private grievance (however unreasonable) and exposing someones email address to potential abuse and spam. But that's just my opinion.

Kendra, I understand that perhaps I am not currently qualified to amass the user count and reputation of a site as monumental as Renderosity, but I do believe I am the operator of an online community. I think that people should be able to stand up and share their opinion and if I disagree with it, I can use my resources, which are a testiment to my ability, to challenge the statement. The affair to me is an additive to future public actions as it is a direct violation on behalf of my character and it hurt me mentally and emotionally. My retort is public because it MIGHT later become justification for my having to sell my products to promote myself at a later date and gain financial and emotional backing through sales. These are not my current intentions, but they are my feelings about the future. I am a very real person in character, but I am naturally more literate in person in my belief. However, I cannot attend personal matters with everyone in the world at any time. My next best option is using the globalized community of the internet to portray publically my opinions regarding the business and the major contributors to those decisions. Thanks, Dan Ryan

I think it's bad to assume and good to communicate in a civil manner. That way answers are given and enlightenment ensues :D Maybe... the question could have been? "When will the download be available?" or "I noticed your website states you are getting a new server to accomodate downloads, when do you think it will be available?" or something along those lines. That's just my point of view. I think you handled it really well, considering you could have gone off on him! You definitely made your point! I totally understand and don't blame you one bit!

Well, I wouldnt have wasted another thought on this. I have two ways to dael with such emails: delete them asap or just hit the reply button and send it back empty (this ids what I normally do with the spam I get from private persons,like all this "forward this important message" crap). My advice: keep cool, ignore!

I agree with your challenging of his statements. I simply disagree with making something public and distributing an email and address when (it sounds like) they used email rather than posting a public statement. If he kept it private there is no real threat to your reputation.

The threat is to the public service I offer. This community receives DIRECT benefits from my generosity. Dan

Well, I have a different take here. If someone wants to trash people for the free stuff, then all bets are off. If you use your email address to send ilk, expect the recipient to defend themselves and that includes publishing the entire message, even the header file (for authenticity). If you don't want your email to show up in public places, don't send stuff like that. I always wondered about people who had nothing better to do with their lives than trash others for giving them something. I bet he hates Santa.

I think that no reply is necessary to this particular carbon based lifeform - but the one you sent is excellent. And, having used a level of irony which will surely go right over his head (do you have a licence for that? :-) ), it only makes sense to share it with people who will appreciate it. While I'm here, let me add my thanks for the great stuff which you seemingly turn out faster than it can be downloaded. Sorry about the bandwidth. Some of that was me. :D
