At home: Mac OS X, the best-looking OS I've seen and it's stable too. On my PC I have Windows 98, not so stable. Linux is also hiding somewhere on the PC. At work: Windows 95 and Mac OS 9, not too stable either of them..

Win XP Pro on 3 machines, Win 98 on 4th machine and Win 98 on laptop. IE 6 on them all. And no problems with any of them! :)

Win98 and Netscape 6.2 on a Pentiumsaurus (P-II). When I upgrade it will be to Win2Kpro. No way will I EVER use xp/spyware/your-data-is-ours-to-abuse-at-will, and I HATE HATE HATE Internet Exasperator in all variations.

I just upgraded from '98 to XP home, I find myself completely happy with it, also as a total relief. I was good at maintaining my '98 setup, it was still an "abominable" OS compared to XP. Alex

Hey... where's my thread gone?!? I could have sworn I replied at number 8 or 9! XPPro on my home workhorse, Win98 at work and soon an iMac running 9.1ish or X. But I have to promise to let Kit use that one! It's a girl-box! She'll not get a look in. Wooaahahaha! H:)

Mac OSX and Classic, use both IE and Netscape (can only make secure purchases at the 'Rosity Marketplace with Netscape)

OS 9.2.2 two versions of Netscape and IE 5.1 5 is is the only version of IE that had more than a 5 min life span on my system this was due to crappy graphics handling of previous versions.

On the various machines around here we use; 486 with MS DOS6.2 and Window 3.11 (used strictly as a CADD machine - some of my old hardware, a scanner and a plotter will not run on anything newer), the 10 P3x733 units that make up the render farm use NT 4 SP6, my laptop is dual boot Win98SE and W2K Pro, my main machines are a Mac G4 running Mac OS 9.2 (I have a copy of OSX but reformatted back to 9.2)and an Intel P4x2Gig which runs W2K Pro hooked to a KVM

Right now, I'm running Win98 SE, but I'm trying to get a dual boot with Red Hat Linux 7.3 set up. Having a bit of problems with partitioning; looks like one of the partitioning programs I tried is confusing the Linux install now, so I'm trying to fix that. (Suggestions welcome. ^_^;)

The Lone Dragon of the Apocralypse is running Win98 First Edition, and will not upgrade to XP until he can afford to replace his motherboard, processor, memory, etc. Or until Win98 FE self-destructs. Whichever comes first. Butch, I remember OS/2 Warp. I remember hearing good things about it. I also remember watching it get crushed by the release of Win95. sigh

Win2kPro, Win98, and Mandrake 8.1 Linux. If Poser was Linux compatable it would be my number one OS.

Win2k, runs best, I have used Poser4 on NT4.0, Win98 and XP. I use Win2k on home PC's, Laptop and work PC's.

Dual boot ME / W2K sp3. Both on same partition and I share program directories. Can install a program to a custom directory, reboot, and reinstall to same directory. That way when switching OS's my settings from the previous session show up. It also saves on HD space. There are problems associated with using a non partitioned C drive, but they can be overcome. IE6. 1.4 amd, 512ddr ram, ATI 8500DV card. Network for Bryce Lightening. DSL. Two scanners, HP 890C, dvd and cd burner (cheapest backup device you can get. Lots of USB game stuff (I prefer saitek). Firewire for the camcorder, usb for the digital camera. But the dream machine, aside from top end amd/ram, may be dual processor (almost built this one that way) and purely win2k. As soon as I'm done with home kernal type software, I'll ditch ME and stay only with w2k. We use xp pro at work on the workstations with w2k server. That's ok there. I don't want xp at home.

At home: MacOS X. Mozilla 1.1b. Looking forward to Poser 5 for MacOS X.

At work: Sun UltraSparc. It does not run Poser :-(

9.2.1 . . . and it crashes and freezes relentlessly. I make sure it does, otherwise it isnt being pushed far enough. Got OS X to get iMovie 2, then left it to late to get Office 2001 so I need it to run Office X. Maybe if Poser 5 only came out in 9.2 it will be out at the same time, let the X version be late. My version of OS X is labled BUILD 5J34 whatever the hell that is.

laptop: Win2000 Pro workstation at home: WinXP Pro server at home: Win2000 advanced server Butch, I remember OS/2 Warp also. Used it for quite a long time in a dual boot with Win9x. It was a very good OS, but I think 2000 and XP are the same quality.

Win2K Pro on one and W98SE on the other. (I'd upgrade the other in a heartbeat..... I love 2K, but I can't find a driver for my printer that'll work with it, and can't affford to replace it right now)

Results: 88 responses for Windows (76%) (38 for XP, 28 for 2K, 22 for others (NT, '95, '98)) 27 responses for Mac OS (24%) (18 for OS X, 9 for others) Many people were running multiples, each was counted.
