Well I have finally finished up the big animation. There may be a few changes, but the way it is now is how it stands. It's about 8megs and it's in .mpg so everyone should be able to see it. You only have another week and a half or so to see it b/c as of aug30 I am quiting my job. Goodbye free cable and cable modem :) Hello life of freelance and potential poverty :) Comments about it are appreciated. The only thing I didn't really like is the skyscrappers at the end. All the windows move and are animated..WHY? THERE ARE NO KEYFRAME ANYWERE FOR THAT TO HAPPEN. I fixed it by puttting on some wacky blur effect in AE. Check it out and let me know.

Fun stuff Brent!

Really nice, Brent. It's better than lots of stuff I see on TV all the time. Great to see Carrara used for pro work like this. And it's nice to see it all come together. I had a similar wavy pattern thing happen with windows on a building in an animation I did; I have no idea what caused it, but wound up using a similar approach to yours; to blur the heck out of the background. Good luck with your free-lance future; you certainly have a good skillset and you have some impressive work to put on your demo reel. I wish you all the best! - Dex

Very Nice! Good luck with the freelancing.

I couldn't view the movie on my Mac - I can usually view Divx 3,4,5 though. But you should reconsider quitting your job. Now is not a good time to try freelancing, so you might want to play it safe until things turn around.

Thanks for the comments. Makes me feel better knowing that someone else had the same texture problem with the windows...thanks litst, it looked right, but animated wrong :) Looking back on all my 3d projects at work the renderosity community has been great, with tons of tips and tricks. Mateo_Sancarlos: This is america! The economy is booming! Ok the stock market sucks but everyone is still buying. Take a look around: AOL time warner/charter/radio/cox they are all having record blockbuster sales. There stocks are all in the dumper b/c everyone is buying everything in site and not paying off debt. I see the crap they are reporting on TV, but now is a great time for a small business. I have yet to advertise once and I already have a good 4 or 5 jobs lined up. Nothings without risk, but don't buy into the bad economy crap. Do some research and you'll see I'm right. -brent
