Subject: Can we get the manual early?

wayneout ( ) posted Wed, 21 August 2002 at 12:19 AM · edited Tue, 05 November 2024 at 11:28 PM

I remember when I first got Poser4, it had just came out. I spend long nights pouring over the manual. And coming to the Poser Forum to ask stupid questions. Since it seems that Poser5 is much more advanced, maybe a slow learner like myself could get the manual early? I see more long nights, but it's a price I will gladly pay. As for paying, my wife doesn't realize it yet but I just got my birthday present a few months early because I just ordered Poser5 upgrade. Thanks CL and everyone involved. Bill

Hello Bill & Everyone, The manual was just completed and we will be discussing posting it in advance of the release. This discussion will be happening soon and I will let everyone know as soon as it becomes available. Anthony Hernandez Documentation Manager Curious Labs

Cool! I know that's not a guarantee, but it's nice to hear that you are giving it serious thought. You'll make a LOT of people here very happy if you do. It would be great to have a headstart on this monster, so when mid September rolls around we can jump right in.

Tori admitted she has made a fortune selling pre-release P5 out the back door - care to guess what you could get from us for the manual today? Come on, think of your little fellow's college education... [probably necessary disclaimer: both parts of the above statement are jokes, folks] Congratulations Anthony - betting your manual is worthy of the amazing P5! Being able to DL at least some of it while we wait will probably result in all sorts of inadequately informed, panic posts here, but we'll really be able to hit the ground running with P5. Then, watch out world - there's suddenly going to be a flood of incredible renders and animations that are going to make all sorts of people sit up and take notice.

"...suddenly going to be a flood of incredible renders..." Strand based hair's going to turn us all into Vameer's hu?

(Sorry, I'm just in a cynical mood this morning.)

LOL!! I was thinking the same thing actually! I hope he's right, but I somehow doubt it. Nonetheless, it will be a whole lot of fun.

Sorry, the Vameer lights will be an add-on for Poser 6.

Actually, getting us the manual before the program will save CL a lot of questions. If the book comes/gets downloaded a few weeks early, some of us may actually READ it before playing with the program. :)

"Then, watch out world - there's suddenly going to be a flood of incredible renders and animations" And then a year later you'll see some great stuff from us Mac folks who are just picking it up.

It was great to get the Pro Pack manual early, not only to answer questions but to modify some existing projects. Many of my projects have been on hold since Poser enhancements are likely to streamline stuff.

Ditto. I'm holding off on a number of projects because I know I'll be kicking myself if I don't, and it ALWAYS helps to plan ahead with any cinematic, photographic, etc. project.

Hello, Thanks for your patience. I'm following up on this topic and will report back as soon as I learn something definitive. Anthony Hernandez Curious Labs

could I recomend setting up a download of the manual from the store using the same verification of a valid serial number would make it fairly secure. the warez people would have a much harder time getting it. grymntl

Grym: The manual has been available for download from the CL website for a little while now. Non-issue anymore. Go get it! It's a good read!
