Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 05 5:33 pm)
First off, if it's 600% of poser figure size and you want it to be less, when you import it to poser, use the 'import as percentage of figure size' option. Second, it looks like you made a normal planar map for it. I'm assuming you did that in uv mapper? Open it up in uvm again and try making different kinds of maps. Box-mapping might be best for this kind of object. Or if you have different materials, you can map by material. But, above all, make sure that the map fills the whole screen in uv mapper, and isn't a small map in the corner. To fill the screen, select all (ctrl+a) and the press = (equals). This will stretch the map from edge to edge. Press ctrl+t to get the template for your map. And forget the grouping tool. It's a PITA. mac
I forgot. If you export the obj from poser to uv mapper, uncheck ALL options. This is important. And when you re-import, uncheck ALL options. This is to ensure that poser doesn't alter your obj file. To rescale, you can scale down in poser before exporting. If you re-import as indicated above, the obj will come into poser at 100% on all scale dials, but at the smaller size you exported it at (and with no uv coordinates, of course, unless you re-map it). mac

stupid me, here i go again...with lots of help from all you really sweet people at rosity's i managed to create something like a wall w/ an alcove in it, as .obj-file. it's about 600% of normal poser figure size. i sent it through uvmapper alright; now, when it comes out of it, it seems to take on the texture map too big, like it was using only part of the map and then strechting it to make it cover the whole object. you can see this on the first picture, wall1. this is a map which is some 3000 pix wide, with actually really small tiles in it, and it doesnt really look like that, does it ? well then, i used the grouping tool and gave the whole thing new perspective uvs - now it obviously uses the texture map size alright - picture 2 - but how can i achieve this without having to use the grouping tool ??? it must be something that uvmapper does, only i cant figure out what it is...does anybody know ???
