This is for Talmidben and others with similar problems and issues for conforming clothing. Take a look at my P-Wizard here in the store. It does have a conforming wizard that will take your OBJ file and the target characters CR2 file and create a CR2 file for the new clothing so it will mostly conform to the character. If you have any other questions about it IM me direct as I don't really want to hijack this thread.

Yes, anything that will help with animation would be great! I also like Stormrage's suggestion about pulling out related files when you uninstall... Thanks for listening! --silver

I would give my left arm for a MOR pose creator that also did scale injections. ;) I love EditPad, juggling between Excel, Poser, and Editpad gets REAL damn annoying. =D

I would just settle for a copy of poserloader from wolfy that would work on my win2k system. works great on win98.

Spit... not quite! As you have NTFS, PBooost 1.3 WILL WORK FOR YOU!!!! Poser does indeed search through the files in the library folders when it starts up... but I doubt it does anything with this information. This initial file scan works properly. The folders are not locked under NTFS until Poser has to search for a texture on loading a file... Under FAT32/NT things are different... either the folders lock immediately or not at all, so FAT 32 users still need to use the NT compatibility tester for PBooost in freestuff. H:)

Kiera, go to my free stuff and downnload the MATMOR wizard. Granted it needs the P-Wizard to be usefull but you can install it somewhere and open the help file if you have windows. Read through that and see if you can use it for what you want. It might give you what you are looking for. Any of you that are going to dragon con might want to find me on Saturday, I'm going to have about two dozen copies to give away for free.

I'd like a utility that will go over any new items in my Poser installation and convert any "jpg" bump map files to the proper bum format. You've seen those files such as skintexturebum.jpg?! Apparently I had many products which didn't have the bum files converted, and I never had a clue about the problem. That includes many DAZ products. I was only made aware of this problem when I bought the DAZ Medium-res(!?) Stephanie textures. All of a sudden Poser asked me for the bum file which didn't exist. I never had a clue as to this problem with the DAZ Mike or Vicky textures. The current method is pretty cumbersome. The user has to search the hard drive for any jpgbum.jpg files to be converted. Maybe a conversion program could be pointed at a particular new item, and automatically search and convert to bum files? Then how about a program that allows us to save our newly converted bum files with the originals perhaps? How about even repackaging them into an ".exe" or "zip" file? It is a pain in the ass to manually reinstall Poser and my stuff and repeat the bum conversion all over again.

Spit ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 8:36 AM

Hogwarden...thanks for the info!!! Crisjon...you may not want to do that. I spent more time on my old machine deleting .bum files to save space than I did using them. If you have plenty of harddrive space it's okay. But I just had Poser convert each one when I needed it.

crisjon1950 ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 9:15 AM

The problem is that too often you have no clue if a bum file is needed, or is not converted when you wanted. I found that out the hard way after my difficulties communicating with DAZ and others. Before I got Stephanie's textures, I had absolutely no clue that many items didn't have the bum files converted. That includes Mike and Vicky's textures.

Hoggie, Can you explain the folder locking thing a bit more. Is the folder locked in such a way that all of the files in the subfolders are not editable? Please elaborate so I do not have to spin my wheels figuring out the same things. I will be taking a long weekend, starting this afternoon (much needed), so I will not begin any work until Monday. More suggestions please :oD ------------------------------------------------- David John Fielder (Konan) Proprietor of Innuendo Software http://innuendo.ev.ca

Ok, I am back from my long weeked. So what's the verdict? After seeing what other utilities are already out there, what shall we do with this project? Konan

konan ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 7:01 PM

I could not find any existing "uninstaller" programs. If there are no major objections, than this is what I'll do. Konan

Boni ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 9:36 PM

Konan, I'm not much of an animator, so although I think your Poser to Bryce animation utility is great ... I'd rather have a freeby that imports Poser to Bryce with all textures in tact, with transparencies set etc. I know that is one function of your utility ... but to have it separate and Just do that would be awesome. As long as several programmers are watching this thread I'd thought I'd make another suggestion...

"John Stallings has a program called "CR2 Editor 1.51" that does this.."

Yes, great program, but limited and John no longer updates it.

I can't get by without this tool, but large files choke it.

What we techies need (also) is a program that edits CR2, PZ3,(all poser library files) and .OBJ files (groups and materials) using the expandable tree layout, but with no memory limitations other than the system it's running on.

Kind of CR2 Editor combined with Compose and Edit pad with a tree hierarchy layout basically.

How difficult would that be?

-Jeff
