That it work with ALL figures, and be updated as figures are released. Expressions beyond the current list. Not have to have that stupid CD in the drive all the time. Linux version. Integrate, or have, text reading lipsyncing. ...and for 3 Sampling facility picking out different voices and assign them to different characters. Real time character animating (maybe in 4) Does any one else have any ideas, like someone who unlike me who has it actually installed, not on a boat or something half way here? I just happened to see the other post below. I can see one or more of the Twelve Animators already having a numbered list in Word ready to send to DAZ, unless it was sent while beta-ing. Perhaps theres a certain other member will like to contribute (or not, as the case may be). (!) Is there already one at DAZ?

I've been using it since its release over two years ago. You've hit all the main points I think (you must have read a lot about it), and I give you a big "AMEN BROTHER" on the no-CD thing. I would also just add: - Some type of simple automation between itself and poser, or make it built-in to Poser would be even cooler. - A way to load CR2 files (much like the Walk Designer) so you were applying the animation to a specific character. -Tim (1 of the 12: co-founder)

You said it,I just got it A couple days ago,and I like it so far,but having to have the cd in to launch it every time is a bunch of crap.I hope Daz takes notice and fixes that and the mil figure thing. regards, David

For 1.0 software I'd say it pretty much does the job. check my MIMIC FAQ at http://www.3dtutor.homestead.com for NFO on makeing millenium figures work with MIMIC. I agree though that future releases of figures should be MIMICABLE. It's job pretty much is lipsincing. I think adding other expressions are a waste of time unless you can manually select these from a list. how could the software tell if it is supposed to be smiling or frowning from the tone of your voice alone. I use Poser Pro Pak with Lightwave and wish that the FACE STATION thing were possible with Poser and Lightwave. For expressions and capturing the neuances of expressions would make it a truly professional tool. I purchased a second copy when I saw the price drop. I feel jumpy with MIMIC in a production environment with no backup. Then when LIPSYNC went belly up, I was ready to panic. Alls well as ends well.

I can't really think of anything to add, other than some additional animation options for body language, similar to what was implemented in textPuppet. -- Little_Dragon (Animator #11.3)

I posted this elsewhere but thought it needed to be here. Blink rates, grouping, and group frequency need to be addressed: rates: duration of each blink grouping: average number of blinks grouped closely together in time. group frequency: mean time between blink groups.

Good ideas all! Thanks. -Tim

Ive just thought of about ten more... Little_Dragon I like your idea about body language. I dont think well have to wait for M4 either. It should read it from the sound file or deduce it from said text file. eg - Breathing, head nodding, shifting averting eyes, and making the ears of pixies wiggle. Perhaps the application should auto-detect the figure type, all the way up to Vicky Ten. Then theres possible integration with Eudora and yahoo-mail. Im not mad, Im just an animator. xvcoffee (for now) -not one of the twelve-

Thanks for the feedback everybody. All good ideas. I've received some similar requests already, and you can email any future wants/needs to me at tech@daz3d.com I'll try to keep track of this thread as well, but if someone starts a new one later I may or may not see it. Sorry if I've missed any in the past also. We've got big plans for Mimic, and didn't want to see it disappear. So we would love to hear more about what you want to get out of the program. Please email me anytime- Ryan DAZ Tech Support tech@daz3d.com (1 of the... well, 1) P.S. The twelve? a reference to the lack of animators out there for poser? or some secret conspiracy?

Ryan: Thanks for the info! (BTW, everyone, I've talked to Ryan on several occassions and he is good man). "We've got big plans for Mimic ..." Oh boy, you opened up a can of worms with that one. ;-) Yes, the "1 of the 12" (or sometimes "1 of 12") references the lack of animators and/or the lack of support for animators (contests, support, software, forumns, etc.) Take care, Tim (1 of the 12: co-founder)
