Hi all, I have been reading and watching and downloading with all of you for a very long time now. I feel like all of you are friends! I have been working on a project for little over a week now, and this is one of the characters I created for my scene. I, too, am very depressed with the lack of really good poser male stuff, but I just think of it as a challenge to my creativity. :) I hope this pic isn't too wide or too large to download. I'm not really sure how big it should be. Anyway, credits: morphs by traveler (of course), bushi's real eyes (thanks, Bushi, I use them all of the time), and the hairy man texture that was floating around on the forum here. I don't know who it was, but thanks anyway. Let me know if you see where I can improve him. (Yes, I know his face is too smooth, but he has a bump map with noise and this is what happened) All post done in photoshop. Thanks!

Looks good so far, pretty clean and polished. Just a suggestion, try smoothing out the figure's edges a little when you begin post-render work (most notably, his left shoulder/forearm). I don't see too many people do that, and it can make a big difference. But since this is a WIP, you probably knew that already... ;) Thanks for sharing! SnowS Hoping his pictures are worth 1001 words.

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

Looks good. Poser needs a few good men - pun intended. Rob

This could be a good start for an "Aries" character from Xena. I've been thinking of trying to make one, but this is a much better start. Think about it?

Ikyoto ( ) posted Wed, 15 March 2000 at 8:05 AM

Hint - set the eyes to -.001 ztrans. The eyes on the default figures is always too far out of their sockets. And PLEASE consider spawning a single morph and posting it. I would like to add this to my other male figure. I am really tired of not having "characters" and making due with the dork. DEATH TO THE DORK! UP WITH CHARACTER!!

If the face were a little less flat-looking you'd have the spitting image of one of my former room-mates! Wow!

Must say, thats the best poser.-man i've ever seen. Looks like an american actor, doesn't know the name. Hope the same like Ikyoto ==> Please post a single morph. SHARKEY

Sorry, all, the texture I used is no more to be replaced by the updated Newford male texture. There are some minor changes, but it appears to be close enough. Hope this helps, Lynda

Well, I posted a long message to the group about my character, but it didn't seem to show up, so I'll try again. SnowS - I have tried to take those jagged edges out, but it always looks too blurry or warped. I hope the problem will correct itself once I import it into Bryce. crossing my fingers Dreamspinner - I can't promise that it'll look anything like him, but I'll give it a try. I didn't know who he was until I searched today, and he's a babe, so it'll be fun. How about a texture and some hair? I'm not good at either of those. Ikyoto - Actually, those eyes are pulled back, but I guess the real eyes are compensating for that adjustment. I'll have to yank 'em back some more and see if that works better. TO everyone else, thanks for the comments and praise. Last night I did it on a whim, and I'm glad I did. It's a big creative boost for me and I needed it. As for posting it to the funstuff section, I would be more than happy to, but I have two problems: I don't really know how to get the morph out of the character and I have no where to host the file. If someone could point me in the direction of a free one, I'd be very happy. As for the texture, since it is not mine, I can't post it. It was done, I think, by someone named Pam -- the same one who did the Newford texture. Most of the glow though, comes from the lighting, I think. Martin Murphy in "The Queen" tutorial suggests taking two lights red and blue and letting them merge over the skin of the character to give an appearance of both warmth and coolness. I don't know why it works, but I know it does because even the default texture can look kinda nice using this technique. Anyway, I am off to work on the woman character for my piece. I'll post the final when I'm done so you can all see what has become of my de-dorkified poser dude. Thanks again, Lynda
