Subject: Is it just me...

Is it just me or are the postings to free stuff getting fewer and fewer? Hope this doesn't mean that the community is slowly dying. Or could it be because all our talented members can't resist to move on to bigger and better products?

The level of freestuff activity comes and goes all the time. If you look, there wasn't much posted yesterday, but on the 12th a whole lot was posted. Besides quality is through the roof lately (sharkey's awsome headdress!!!!!!) a dip in quantity is ok with me :)

Besides - there are so many things int eh "back". I still have tons of stuff I DL'd oer the last year and haven't used. this place isn't dying, it's just getting over it's re-birth surge and leveling out. I too much prefer quality over quantity... I had thinking the same like OHMAN, but now i was happy to hear from "old-members" that's a normal come and going. SHARKEY

I think this came up before too--I still think people are having a bit of trouble with servers for downloading and I'm not sure that there aren't more people making things available for download but doing it through 'links'. Maybe there should be some way to categorize these. There are all the links over on the right--and an awful lot of these are to sites that have lots of downloads. Has anyone thought of creating something like the gallery with thumbnails but links to the pages (URL) with the download as opposed to the actual download--which many places just won't tolerate (if you understand what I mean). Ideas come and go, too. There are times when everyone has a creativity block. During the ebbs, it could just mean that the creative flow is down. It doesn't mean the place is dying. Give it time and someone will come up with something new. I could offer tons of ideas. Unfortunately, I'm not a modeler, so I can't make things myself, but if anyone wants ideas, maybe someone should start a thread for ideas that the modeling artists could look at and get ideas. Here's a suggestion: A man's Edwardian frock coat (open in front). Melanie

Hear Hear! A frock coat AND spats! (I also need a good set lace trans map for several table cloths... anyone know where I can find good pics of lace?)

Traveler ( ) posted Wed, 15 March 2000 at 9:00 AM

Yeah if anyone knows where to get some lace picts share them :) I would be more than happy to make trans map bases of them if anyone has some. (or a pile of lace and a scanner ;)

http://listings.ebay.com/aw/listings/list/category945/index.html Don't know why I didn't think of it before. Ebay has a lace and textiles category. Must be 1,000's of picts there, even if a 10th of them are useable to make textures from, its a gold mine :)

And while we're kinda on the topic... Here's a site thats worth mentioning again. I think Staale first suggested this one in the in the Poser ListServer but there's a lot of new folks in here since then. http://www.bluefly.com/ BlueFly Clothing Outlet It has tons of clothing photographed large, flat, & on a solid background, in the ideal fashion for using as textures in Poser. Here's a sample from their Womens section: 0022195_L.jpg
