Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Oooooh.... This is great! And I know for sure that people wants clothes that would appear to be dropped on the floor, I'm sure this bikini will appear so with the proper tweaking of the dials :o) Any other clothes that can be dropped... make them and you'll be everybody's hero! sigh I can model some things, but clothes doesn't seem to be among them.... not yet anyway. So KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Thanks ernyoka1, you do great work yourself. Actually, I am not very good at modeling things from scratch. I can, however, take an existing item and rework it via the magnets and grouping tool, etc., in Poser and often get it to do neat things. I think you will find the bikini top & bottom (while not perfect) very pose-able. :O)
Heya, that is my thinking guys. I may never do a Vicki striptease since that is not really my thing, but that doesn't mean I don't want clothing that pose, drape, etc. like the real thing. The blouse is a good one, what else would you guys like to see? Also, if there are any folks out there who like to model clothing and are interested in working with me that would be cool too. Otherwise I have to stick to modifying existing stuff, since I really can not seem to get the knack for modeling clothing items from scratch. Using existing stuff is okay, but it means I have to get permission from the creator to distribute it, and also it may not always be put together in a way that is easily to pose right. There is also the time factor involved. Since my time is always in short supply. But I am willing to do these as freebies, so if anyone who feels like modeling an itme wants to work with my, the help is appreciated as well as a timesaver in the long run. Rob
If you can make the blouse unbutton partially and fully and then open, that would be the greatest thing I can think of. Breast size morphs would be incredible. I'm thinking half unbuttoned, mega-cleavage here. A robe would also be nice.

I'll see what I can do when I find some time to work on it. For now, though, there are a couple of blouse out there that have limited posing capablity. Gabe had one out for the P4 which was really nice. It took a bit of tweaking but you can make it work on the Mil figures. Wasamah also has some a couple of cool tops that I know of that partially unbutton. Of course, what I have in mind would be to make it pose to the max, like I did the bikini set. BTW, once some of you have had a chance to download and try the bikini set out, I would appreciate it if you would let me know what you think. Feedback would help me to make the next item even more user friendly if at all possible.

That's a "business type blouse"??? - I didn't say what kind of business VS. Actually, when it's closed and buttoned, as opposed to Pamela Anderson in a whorehouse mode it is quite suitable for a demure businesswoman. Shadownet, you'll have to show me the dial settings to get the V look. I've played with that thing several times and never could get it to my liking. Your picture looks a little like Ghastley's 'Daisy Duke' blouse but longer. I assume you did the waist tie in postwork. Don't tell me that's in there too and I haven't found it :-) Would be a nice addition if it were possible. Like you, I can't model to save my life. I've been able to fold the sides of a regular blouse/shirt back but I don't know to detatch the vertices from the other side. Even if I figured that out, it would probably screw up the vertex count or something and make it unusable as a morph target.

You da man Shadownet - works fine! Thanks. "Oh, the knot and ends thingie was a prop I made using the primatives in poser." And you said you couldn't model. Mignt not impress some folks but it's modeling to me :-)

LOL! Well, if that's impressive. I made the GypsyRose set entirely in Poser using its "modeling tools" cause the grouping tool, hierarchy editor, primatives, existing stuff to modify, and magnets are the only modeling tools I know how to use halfway. I have Carrara but I can not seem to grasp even the basics in it. Gee, guess I is a Poseodeler or something. :O)
Look at it this way, you are probably more accomplished with those tools than 90% of users who either find them too difficult or disdain them in favor of full blown modeling apps. It may be a niche but that's what evolution's all about, find your niche and exploit it. So, here's to the mighty homo sapiens poseodeler. It took me a while to get the Gypsy Rose reference for some reason - duh. Maybe you can start a classic strippers line, Tempest (Storm), Lily (St. Cyr), Blaze (Starr), etc. And no, I wasn'r around to see them live, probably my loss though :-)

Decided to make this a freebie instead of trying to market it. I do not have the download page on my web site updated as yet, so it is not listed in my free stuff, but you can download it off the server at the link shown.http://edgeofnever.net/downloads/GypsyRose.zip
Really put a lot of time and effort into this so I hope that it is something you will find useful. Also, let me know if there is an interested in other clothing items along this line. Me personally, I would rather have items of clothing to work with in Poser that functions more like their real world counterparts rather than like something molded out of plastic.
Oh, I also posted a couple new pics to the Poser Gallery here, so be sure and check them out as well. :O)
Cheers,
Rob
