Hi everybody, I've heard someone saying the forum was kinda dead these days . No names, but i know it was Paul aka PAGzone . So, i thought i'd share this WIP with you . It's not really a WIP because i won't finish it, it's just that i needed practice on modelling, my last model was made 6 months ago or so . litst, have you tried Skinning that puppy yet? Just to see if you can get a few expressions out of him... he's kinda somber, kinda like the mood of the forum right now... :( Ken dork.gif

What procedure would you use to animate its mouth (open and closed)?

Very impressive model. Did you use the same techniques as you have in the other head tutorials? -Kix

Thanks for your comments guys, To model it i used more or less the same techniques than the ones i show in my tutorial . With the additionnal help of subdivision surfaces of course, they really make the modelling much easier in every way ... except on the symmetry because they leave a gap between the two halves :( . Also, it's better to use quads and tris with sub-surfaces . The technique i would use to open is mouth (if i model one !) would be bones, definitely . I've never done this before, so i'd have to make some experiments . The teeth would not be skinned, but instead simply attached to the jaw bone so they never deform . The same for facial animation : bones should do some good job . Too bad we can't save bones positions ... I'll keep you updated if i work more on it . litst
