I just want to thank John for sharing his great dress. I know I will put this to good use. Well I haven't found the 12th Century fabric site yet, but I'm looking. I want to tex map this as acurate as possible. So The tex maps are also VERY MUCH WIP I did however attempt to add a hip belt/sash (needs lots of improvement). Now where am I going to get a mantle ;-) Thanks again John! James

That looks absolutely fantastic, the dress by John is superb. Please let me know the URL of the 12th Century Fabric site when you find it - that could be very useful :) Paul

I like! The dress is cool, but the tex is bitchin! That 'white-on-white' look is very impressive, and transparency just adds to the effect. Tho maybe just a tad less trans?... Never fully satisfied, always fully appreciative, MadRed

I'd love it if John West would make the dress model available. Though I don't want to use it for the same purpose, I really like the shape that can be modified very effectively for many purposes. BTW, this image is very very nice--I too like the white on white texture a lot. Diane B

Shadownet jumps up and down, waving his hand. The gown is near perfect and would do Galadrial proud! Now the test ahead of you will be getting the Lady of Wood as stunning - so that she belongs in it! And don't forget the gleam of the ring on her finger (atleast I take this pose as reflecting her "appearance" in the garden with Frodo - other wise tone down the clawed fingers.) I'd say work on the texture for her and keep the general pose for she kind of has that both Beautiful and Terrible look, the way Frodo saw her suddenly transform. Now I really can't wait for the movie to come out - I just hope they can represent the characters half as well as you have! Rob

Really nice stuff James ...

Ok Allerleiraugh, I'll take anything that gives me a better idea of the textiles. I can hopefully rework them. Send them my way. Anything you have, even if not too clear. Just so i get a good sense of placement and such. As the textiles didn't survive the ages, I think the web sites also went the way of antiquity. I used to see a lot of them, but now with so many sites, the search engines take a lot of looking and re-looking. And Galadirals texture. I'm still working on that one, but I got the morphs done. (Morph Manager for the MAC?!?!?! Soon?) James

What a wonderfull texture. I love it. BRILLIANT !!!!!! I think its not important if the texture looks like 12th century, because Elvish-People exist in fantasy and toughts knows no limitations. SHARKEY

I think you shouldn't dump that texture. In other situations it would be as great as anything! /Ohman

Beautiful texture! But if you want medieval fabric trims try this site :www.calontirtrim.com they have tons with large pictures! You might also try a search for illuminated manuscripts to have a look at real medieval dresses. There was the site of the library of the french city of Lyon that was very good. Sorry I lost my bookmarks on a hard drive crash .Hope this can help. Monique
