Hello everyone,

This message is for everyone who has posted here concerning the latest events at Daz3d. First of all, I would like to thank everyone for the enthusiasm and support for our latest mystery model, the Millennium Dragon. From what Ive heard and read, it seems safe to say that the general response of the community has been one of appreciation and joy. Thats exactly what we had hoped for.

We are also aware of the problems too many of you have ran into since the big change in our site was instituted Friday of last week. We have recently made several significant changes to our site:

New IP address: for this reason some of you have had trouble seeing www.daz3d.com at all- once your ISP updates its DNS list, you should see us just fine.

New website coding: This is perhaps the biggest change that all of you have noticed. We have finally thrown away our old MIVA Merchant software and are in the midst of getting our new site up to speed. We apologize that it was not nearly bug-free enough when it launched last week, but our MIVA store was running even worse if you can imagine. Though many of the MIVA problems were not as immediately noticeable to many of you, the problems were becoming absolutely horrendous for DAZ. Countless times, customers have had problems getting downloads when they purchase online and are forced to wait until a DAZ representative can personally fix the problem. We said Enough! and had a custom store created for us. Despite the expense, we know that in the long it will be an investment well worth every cent.

Our new store IS SECURE!! It uses frames for the display of the various pages within our site. Due to this, the padlock you would normally see at the bottom of your browser is no longer displayed when you enter the secure portion of our site. The https:// prefix is not displayed either, since only one frame of the page is being updated. This whole idea is being worked on as we speak, too. Our security certificate is still valid and secure, you need not hesitate to purchase through our store.

Any trouble that you continue to encounter, please email us an explanation and we will let you know what the status is for its remedy [sales@daz3d.com].

While this transition was not as smooth as we would have hoped, it has been very valuable to us in trouble-shooting our new store. We are hard at work on many new features, such as the Platinum Club that has been mentioned briefly in this forum. Many of the new features on our site that you will be seeing in the very near future were simply not an option with our old setup.

We wish to thank you all for your patience and candor with us during this time. We will extend the sale of the Millennium Dragon accordingly. Please keep checking the site for the up-and-coming additions to our site. They will be very, very big and (we hope) very, very nice for you - the consumers.

Thanks again,

Steve Kondris
DAZ Productions, Inc.

DAZ, A quick and dirty problem to the frames and SSL issue: Have the link to the store open a new frameset entirely encapsulated in the https portion in the web site. (The easiest way would be to use a new frameset while in the store portion.) Or, you could have a page redirect from http://www.daz3d.com to https://www.daz3d.com Just a few suggestions. :0)

Doh! problem/solution* (I saw the mistake as it was being posted.)

Thanks, CyberStretch, I'll pass that along to our webmaster in case they hadn't thought of that angle yet. I hope you enjoy the rest of the surprises we have coming your way soon. Steve DAZ Productions, Inc.

DAZ3D, Me, I like the Dragon. Is it a he or a she? Either way thanks. It'll look alot better when I can afford to texture it. Thank you, - TJ

Ahh... the Platinum Club... This is rumoured to be a special discount club for senior citizens over the age of 150. Such citizens will actually get the models for free. It seems DAZ cannot resist the publicity they will gain by such newspaper headings as: 169 year old Texan grandmother does "Vickie in a Temple"! - Jack

That reminds me, Steve ... you might want to check the Millennium Dragon texture pack. Some people have reported that their download doesn't include a wing-membrane transmap. I wasn't sure whether it was an oversight or a misprint.

Hi, Hope you had a nice holiday. I tryed to use a gift certificate I got when I bought mimic. I sign in and try to redeem the certificate and it says the key is wrong. I'm not sure what a key is. I got a gift certificate number on the invoice which isn't recognized in the new system. I emailed customer service Monday but haven't heard back from them yet and hoped maybe it was something I was doing wrong. The dragon looks great. Bill

Thank you for all the wonderful enchantments DAZ has provided and of course there are always wrinkles in setting up a new system. I sit patiantly now as the snail-mail crawls your way with my MilDragon order, now that StacyG explained that I sent my order to the Wrong Address and arrived here at the Rendo Market place??! Like hay, I'm a blonde californian, so like gag me with a spoon nkay ;p But really, after the DAZKids, Stephanie, the Gorilla, and now this awsome Beast; who can rightfully complain?? Not Me!!!

Hi Steve, I just want to take this opportunity to say thanks for comming in here and giving us the explanation and assurance that we will be looked after. I, and everyone here Im sure, really appreciate the time and efforts you and the DAZ staff are putting into resolving the issues at hand. Thank you DAZ3D and keep up the great work. Scott.

I'll add my thanks for the reassurance of the security status, as well. I'd already hit the button before I noticed my browser didn't claim secure setup... :P

I'm one of those people who had problems downloading once in a while. To be honest, the Daz people were so nice, I sort of will miss the occassional chance to send an e-mail and get their friendly and quick response. The products, freebies, and sales are so good, it was worth putting up with the occassional glitch. Now its getting even better, so I can put up with the switchover problems. I mean who else would give away Stephanie, the ape, and the dragon? And run a sale on the upgrades and textures at the release? Not to mention cutting Mimic's price by 75%. I'm hoping they bring the same improvements and class to Mimic, and I'm breathlessly awaiting the new versions of Vicky and Mike. Good job, DAZ!

Thank you for your support and patience. Our sales staff was swamped with emails and are still catching up. Manikin Flesh: If you still haven't gotten a response, email reba@daz3d.com, and she'll make sure your Mimic voucher gets taken care of, we had a big problem importing that one across the systems for some reason, sorry. Little_Dragon: There was a map left out, but an update was made immediately, and the installers redone. If you have one of the original batches though, just email reba@daz3d.com and she'll get you the new one. Thanks again for all you do to support us! Steve DAZ Productions, Inc.

Boy, do I have a problem.....your new checkout will not accept my password, even when it's been mailed to me and entered correctly. And I'll be leaving on a 7 week camping trip very early Friday morning, meaning I can only afford to buy the dragon for about 24 more hours. Help!

Please go to the Macintosh forum at the above link. There are a lot of Mac people who can't use the new store at all.
