hi all , does anyone know if its possible to import DEM's direct from microdem into bryce5 or is there a program available that would allow me to do this?I know macdem does something similar for mac uses via photoshop and .raw files any suggestions ?

DEM is a supported file format under "import object".

I have a tut up on using the .gz files from USGS. I found the file rename trick to work just fine for those. Brycetech has one also.

thanks you two, the import dem wouldnot work for me ,but then the tutorial pointed out where i was going wrong ,nice joint effort!

Eric, for some reason, renaming the gz files to dem didn't work for me. But extracting them with WinZip and then adding the dem extension worked allright.
