Hey all...

Attempting to create some "Wet-Suit" textures for the Body Suit by Daz. Im trying to "remap" the suit to have a Planar image, and I get the template, but do not know how to have the new template reflected on the Body Suit.

I saved the new object, replacing the original from Daz (prolly a bad idea), and went to creating the first texture.

I go to test the layout and the texture doesn't match. I've reopened and looked with UVMapper at the "new" body suit, and it reverted back to the original style of template.

Can someone give some advice on how to accomplish what I'm attempting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(Image is what I'm trying to get too....)

-Lee

There is already a standard remap of the bodysuit somewhere in freestuff (@ AniMotions as part of some super hero custumes).

to remap you have to save the model as well in UV maper. I tend to save it to same name and add a 1 to the name that way the orridge maping works if needed for other projects. hope this helps Vel

Yuri... I did a search for "remapped" and got nothing for a remapped body suit.. If I missed it.. any help would be appreciated.... Vel... I did save both the object and the texture... that's my question... still isn't working after I saved them both.. :/ -Lee

Did you give it a new name and edit the CR2 to look for this? Or, did you give it the same name as the old version and just protect the old OBJ somehow? If it is the latter, did you remember to delete the .RSR in geometries? The planar mapping will produce really crappy texturing for the facets on the sides. They become edge-on. You might consider stretching and squeezing the present map instead. The unfolding is difficult to duplicate - unless you have a program that does this.

Jaager, I have noticed the severe stretch along the seams... I can figure a "work around" for this to not look so bad. Do you have any suggestions on a program that will help the stretching? (I was unaware of such a program existed...) I'll post some pics of what I've got so far... :) -Lee

UVMapper pro can do this. Look at the [camel tutorial](http://www.uvmapper.com/uvmpspread.html).

Check out birdsongs' posts. Helped me do the planar map after a year and a half of pulling my hair out. Early August I think. If I find it, I'll post it.

DAZ uses a program that I have only seen reference to the one time. The name did not stick with me. The ones in common use are Flesh and Texture Weapons - both are way more than I would pay for what they do. UVM Pro will let you select and map individual facets, but the mode you use - detaches them - so it is not like pealing an orange. It is difficult not to get artifacts - facet to facet doing it this way and slicking them back together after you get them flat. It all depends on how compulsive you are. My choice is to try and protect the original unfolded mapping at all costs - since I cannot really duplicate it.

heyas; slow down. okay, lee, you say you remapped and saved your remapped obj over top of the original daz obj, right? did you then delete the rsr that goes with the daz obj? until you delete that, poser will be using the old daz obj that you overwrote, because it translated that into the rsr, and is now using the rsr. if you ever change an obj (instead of making a new obj), you have to delete the geometry rsr that goes with it. that's all it is. :)
