Subject: Anybody having trouble with DAZ store

Mitch1 ( ) posted Sat, 07 September 2002 at 4:23 PM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 10:26 AM

I bought from the Medieval sale today and couldn't download it. I have already e-mailed DAZ, I read in an old post than DanFar said they would be taking e-mails during the week-end, not sure if he meant this week-end. What a letdown, i was hoping to start playing right away with my new toy.

You might see if you can get into your order history and download it from there - That works at a lot of sites, not sure about DAZ since the recent changes, though.

Already tried that, after 3 failed tries it says that I don't have any file to download.

I don't even get any menus, so I can't even See what is in the store. All I can buy are the dragon, the three icons at the bottom and what ever appears on that revolving banner. Bring back the old store! Kevin

We are currently fixing the bugs with the new software. If the menus don't apear then hit refresh. I'm not in Utah so I cannot help with the download but hang in there. We will get it fixed for you. Send the email also to reachel@daz3d.com and steve@daz3d.com so more than one person is in the loop. Anton Daz3D

Just out of curiousity - if they site works for you, what are you typing in to get there. I type in www.daz3d.com and it opens a window that has a picture of the dragon and there is a menu to the left. I click on the link and it transfers me to www.store.daz3d.com and there is a different picture of the dragon, with three links and a rotating block at the bottom of the page, but no links to navigate around the store. I did try typing in www.store.daz3d.com directly but I just get a page error when I try that. I'm using IE explorer on windowsXP Pro and I have all the updates. I did have an older version of Netscape on my machine and I tried it for a lark, but I got the same results as above. I know that java script is disabled in IE, but it said it was running something in Netscape but I still didn't get any menus. I also have ZoneAlarm Pro running. I tried turning it off but that did help either. Oh and one more thing... On the first page with the menus, almost all of them work. I tried the site map and it takes to a list of things like Michael and Victoria, but when I click on them they take me to the page without the menus. But I'm sure that one of these pages has frames on it, so I don't think that my problem is that my browser doesn't support frames. Thanks, Kevin

Well, I was sure I tried the refresh button before, but just to be sure I went and tried it again, but I still didn't get any menus. And just to be clear on this, I do get menus on the www.daz3d.com page, but when I click on the store link, it takes me to a page without any menus. Is there a direct link to the new release page, you know the one with the little icons of evenything that is new in the store? Thanks, Kevin

Thanks a lot Anton. I had already e-mailed sales and then tried Reba's e-mail. I haven't received a reply so it looks like they are out this week-end. I just e-mailed Reachel and Steve like you suggest. (Is it Reachel or Rachel?) Maybe I will have more luck with them. Thanks; Mitchel

The new DAZ store crashes half my browsers, and the other half either can't display (or can't operate) the menus on the left. The one time I got through to try to order the dragon package it went into an infinite loop insisting that I log in (when I did it just went back to the login screen). I suppose in the end that may save me some money, because while I'm terribly tempted at $20 there's no way I'd pay full price once the introductory price wears off in a day or two.

Works perfectly here with Net7 and IE6. Ron

I've tried with Mozilla 1.1 on 3 platforms (Mac OS X, Win XP, and Tru64 UNIX); plus Internet Explorer on XP and OS X; and OmniWeb and Chimera on OS X. It didn't work RIGHT on any of those. However, after writing the earlier note I went off and tried the latest Chimera nightly build, and I now own the full Millenium Dragon pack. I'm not sure whether that's good or bad, since it's really cool but I'm sure that (like 99% of all the other stuff I've bought for Poser) I'll never use it enough to justify the price. But that's what hobbies are about, right? ;-)

I have experienced some difficulties with the new DAZ3D store, but overall I like the new software much better. Like everything else it will take a little time for DAZ3D to get all of the problems worked out. I use this URL to get to the store: http://store.daz3d.com It seems to work a little better that way as far as the menus and icons go. And of course, a little patience goes a long way! :) Brian

MeInOhio:

Try ***http://***store.daz3d.com instead of www.store.daz3d.com.

OK, I decided to use my MIMIC voucher and buy the dragon textures and see if I could download this time. I got the same problem. I've got Internet Explorer 5.5 with Service Pack 1. With the old store I used to have the problem were I had to right click in the link to download my item and select "save to target" if I didn't do that it would download an HTM page, not the file. Now even right clicking won't give me the file. So what happened first was that I kept trying to download my first item from the medieval sale until I ran out of available downloads, I think you have up to three. Now with the Millenium dragon textures I have up to 1 more download. Does anybody knows if this might be a problem of Internet Explorer? Again, with the older store I could right click, save to target and the fi;le would download fine, now nothing seems to work.

Mitch, I'm sorry I don't have any concrete answers for you :( I seem to remember something in the old store about download problems with MSIE 5.5, but I don't remember what it was. I am using MSIE 6.0 and haven't had any trouble downloading. MSIE 6.0 is a free download from Microsoft's site, though if you're using a modem line it would be a very long download. Brian

Mitch1 ( ) posted Sun, 08 September 2002 at 11:25 AM

Thanks, Brian. Seems like I will have to install MSIE 6. I am on a modem line so I'll wait until DAZ answers on Monday to be sure that's the only option I have.

whisper ( ) posted Sun, 08 September 2002 at 5:07 PM

Brian, I have IE 5.5 and have not had any trouble downloading from daz, even with the old store.

Mitch1 ( ) posted Sun, 08 September 2002 at 7:10 PM

Whisper, what OS are you using? I have Windows 2000 Service Pak 2.

whisper ( ) posted Sun, 08 September 2002 at 9:07 PM

I'm currently running Windows ME.
