Subject: P5 Shippig Problems!!!!

Philywebrider ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 8:30 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 10:10 PM

CL said my order was one of the first 5 orders. I recieved my shipping confirmation for P5 telling me my order had been shipped 9/6/2002. I paid for overnight delivery, and I expected P5 to arrive today, 9/9/2002. I called Friday, and Airborne said if it was shipped friday, I would get it Monday. I stayed home to recieve it. I called Airborne today (Monday) and Airborne said it wasn't shipped yet, and I should check with the shipper. What's going on? I was one of the first 5 orders, I specified Overnight Delivery, I recieved confirmation of shipment, and it wasn't shipped. I lost a days work, and will have to make special arrangment to recieve it, plus I paid a premium for overnight delivery, and I'm getting 2nd day service, IF CL ships today.

Airborne's tracking is wonky, and I've had problems like this a lot. They update their tracking database only once a day and I don't know if they update at all on Weekends. So what frequently happens with overnight delivery is that your tracking number comes up with "No information available" until the night of the same day it was delivered. Rather useless to track once you've got it. Overnights just seem to move to quickly for their lame tracking to keep up with the package. If you're using their only tracking and you can see a package with your tracking number but just no further info, wait until after noon before contacting Curious. Overnights are scheduled for delivery by noon. However if your tracking number is not found in their database at all, time to holler at CL. :) Mine's supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but there is no tracking info on it yet. I'm trying not to get worried. Phoenix

JDexter ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 8:46 AM

Did you use tracking at www.airborne.com with the number CL sent you? Maybe the person you spoke with was incorrect. Airborne Express has to deliver these packages by 12:00 noon (which is the method CL used) so until that time passes I would not be completly concerned. I just tracked mine and it shows out for delivery. What does airborne.com say about yours? JDexter

Philywebrider ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 9:03 AM

My order# and Tracking# are in Airbornes data base. I did check www.airborne.com, and recieved a "no status" That's why I called. I will check Airborne again, maybe some thing will turn up. Airborne did say my order was not shipped, and to check with the shipper to see where it is, and why the paperwork shows it is. I really hope Airborne is in error, because that means delivery today, but I wanted to check with CL just in case.

neoken1 ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 9:40 AM

Awww, Boo-Hoo! I haven't received tracking squat from CL(and I pre-ordered weeks before this past Friday). Man, All of yaw are gonna get to play with all the cool stuff before I get it ;) (and the envy soaks in...)

Dave-So ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 9:51 AM

In my experience...and I receive shipments regularly...of all the major shipping companies..Airborne is by far the worst....sorry Airborne...just telling it like it is.

wdupre ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 9:52 AM

mine was listed as being shipped on the 6th and in ohio hub on the 8th not bad so far for ground, but then I'm not in such a hurry as my new 2.53gh computer isn't due in till the 19th :(

SAMS3D ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 9:57 AM

I deal with tons of air companies and ground, Philywebrider try not to worry, I am sure you will get it today. Also, I agree with what was said above this post, sometimes the right hand has no idea what the left is doing. So take heart, I am sure you will get it today, I paid for ground, mine was in Ohio on Sunday, so I will probably get mine on Wednesday. So see you will get it before me, and hey let some get it first, never know they might find more problems installing and when yours comes you will be ready. Sharen :-)

Boy, I thought Airborne Express was one of the better ones. I just chcked my tracking info again and it stated that they attempted delivery at 10:43 am EST. That is impossible because I live in a gated co-op complex with security that checks vehicles in or out. I called them and they said Airborne had not arrived yet. I called the number on the tracking memo and they repeated my address. I told the lady there is no way that he could have attempted delivery the gate house had said no. She then asked: How do you get in? I cannot believe after all the deliveries this carrier has done that they don't know how to get in. It isn't a mystery. They must think we leave the co-op and pickup our mail on the avenue. We even have a package room. DUH!!!! Now he has to come back.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 10:18 AM

I just checked my tracking number and guess what it is wrong, want to know how I know.........cause it just got delivered....I have it....in my hand, I opened it too.....it smells good too, look it has a manual....all this neat stuff....Sharen BE HAPPY it is on it's way, if I got mine now you will too.

Philywebrider ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 10:19 AM

I have P5 in my hot little hands, it was just delivered. :oD Thanks Sharen, and everyone for your support, I hope you all get yours, does that sound right?...anyway you know what I mean. :o)

Don't feel too neglected, our friends from over the pond. I pre-ordered mine two weeks ago and have yet to receive even an e-mail that it shipped. My credit card has been tapped by CL, so that's a good sign, but the wait is going to drive me INSANE! ;) Actually not, I've got a web site design that'll keep my mind off of whatever the program's called... As you can see, not even thinking about it. Really, I'm not. (Damn, where is it?!) Kuroyume

at least they've got your money, here in the UK they can't take the money till the day they ship, so till that day I don't know if I'm getting it at all. Rob

SAMS3D ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 12:15 PM

LOL, kuroyume0161, I am okay till I get here, must be all the excited people, when I called my mom and said I got it, she said okay fine, and then told me about her day....it is this place, we are all connected here you know, we all feel each others pain and extreme happiness and because of that we come back here, to share.

kuroyume0161 ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 12:41 PM

c1cle: That buggers all, doesn't it? Good thing to remember is that there are actually people who have received it, so CL will definitely get down to the rest of us in good time. :) SAMS3D: Agreed. Though, I'm neither disappointed nor too edgy. When it arrives, it arrives. Even used UPS Ground instead of overnight because there isn't that much of a rush on my end (I am titilated, though, by all of the possibilities). It is great that you have received yours and am eagerly awaiting the juicy details about how it works, what the renders look like (don't forget to post images here!!! :), and any problems to avoid. So, get to work, slave!! (hehe) ;0) Kuroyume

typical parents eh sharen?, mine think I'm mad spending nearly 400 on a "toy", their words not mine, they don't understand how I really need to get my fix of poser ;) Kuroyume I'm 100% certain my order is going to come soon enough, I emailed the guys in Ireland to query about the money the other day after people started mentioning that their payments had been taken. Hi I thought you might like to see a little render. Nothing fancy the only thing I did was load Don, go to the face room and modify his face, change the the background to black and add light. I'll show a before and after. As I said nothing fancy, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you guys can do. Wait till I get to the other stuff. The face room is great for creating characters. I know the statement seems ovoius, but I find making the changes much easier.

Modified Don, no special textures. Sorry images not better, but I thought you might like to see something. The next few day should show some really good stuff. Wish me luck.

The really good stuff I'm talking about is from the other artists out there.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 5:40 PM

I received my email notification and tracking number last week. My copy is currently somewhere in the vicinity of Ohio. I'm a bit concerned about how Airborne will make final delivery, since the shipping address on the tracking page lists only town, state, and zipcode (no street). Of course, I usually have problems with package delivery anyway. No one seems willing to get out of their truck and slog a quarter-mile through thicket and scrub to reach my stoop.

Philywebrider ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 5:51 PM

Hi Little Dragon Do you have an street/road/Lane address, or was it just left off by CL? "Of course, I usually have problems with package delivery anyway. No one seems willing to get out of their truck and slog a quarter-mile through thicket and scrub to reach my stoop." Yipe.. that sounds like a problem. No Mail box at the road? I'm suprised you don't have to go to "town" for packages. Good Luck.

I'm quite certain that I provided CL with a street address when I preordered. My order confirmation ... uh ... confirms it. Yes, I have a mailbox, but I prefer packages hand-delivered to the cave, rather than left sitting along the side of the road, where the natives can fire BB pellets at them. In any event, it's Airborne's problem now. Should my copy be misplaced, I'll simply perch atop the next AirEx van I encounter and have a little chat with the driver until matters are rectified.

kuroyume0161 ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 7:49 PM

I just received my shipment confirmation from CL. Curiously (haha...emmmm), they used Airborne although I remember selecting UPS Ground (???). And about that problem that started this thread? The tracking information doesn't list my address either, so it's probably just the info that's displayed. I hope they can find me as my embattlement is far off the beaten path. If you heard about the tornado in Colorado recently, well, my house is about a mile or less from where it touched down. I actually saw another funnel forming and heading directly for my house, but I guess it didn't touch (I and my dogs were in the basement with my head in the same place you'll find most dogs' ;). Philywebrider: Really nice render there!! Kuroyume

Cave?, embattlement?, slogging a quarter mile through a thicket, tornados, no addresses, I think Poser people are going to offer the delivery sevices a real challenge. ;o)

Crescent ( ) posted Tue, 10 September 2002 at 12:24 AM

I think Airborne doesn't show the recipient's address on the web page for security reasons. I highly doubt they lost everyone's addresses. My full address didn't show, either, but I got mine this morning.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Tue, 10 September 2002 at 8:55 PM

Received mine this afternoon. No BB-holes. No side trips. No drivers lost in the woods, stumbling about in a blind panic, muttering about the Blair Witch. What does "BB" stand for, anyway? Ball-bearing?
