From: "Day Innuh Lyfe: M' Sekrit Diuhry" April 6 Thursday "Max." "Jeez, Wilma, you scauh'd th' buhjeezuz owt uv me!" I watched the bejeezuz flee screaming into the night, then turned to face the rat. "Lighten up, Max. How's the Great Cheese Caper coming?" I lit a Camel and stared at the rat through my shades. She was standing on her haunches on the threadbare rag that the super of the Motel told me was a carpet the day I rented the room. It was really just a dishtowel somebody threw on the floor and left there, he couldn't fool me. But it provided some comfort for Wilma, I imagined. She always seemed to squat on her haunches in the same place when she visited, though I noticed with occasional concern that a small, dark spot remained each time she left. I wormed my hand under my frayed mattress and managed to remove the plans and diagrams I so studiously created yesterday, without ripping my fingers to shredded hamburger on the rusted bedsprings. That was a good thing, because people make meatloaf out of hamburger and I hate meatloaf. Laying the plans on the floor next to Wilma, we reviewed the operation. Wilma pointedly noted that wiring 20 lbs. of plastique to the front door might not be the most suitable way to gain entry into the locked shop. "So, yu gut a bettuh ideuh?" I remember asking her, a bit indignant that a rat with little or no experience in matters as this might point out a possibly fatal flaw in my otherwise foolproof plan. "Just break the glass in the door, Max." "Oh."

Wow, great fur texturing on Wilma...

Credit for the fur goes to someone who posted it here the other day. I forgot to write it down. To the poster, sorry, but thanks :) I remapped the Zygote rat with UV mapper, made the map using the fur, created a bump and there you have it. Wilma is lit from directly above, and I think that's what makes the fur look so good. I don't like Max's pose/lighting; I'll take another crack at it, eventually. I wish I could finish Lover's Leap Roach Motel (www.ratta.com/max). The scenes are just too big for Ray Dream to handle (it gets very slow). I'm slowly porting all the props that are original over to Poser. Someday, when I have a little more time, I'd like to get a site together with all the stuff I've made for the Motel. There's a ton of it. And, write more, and model more, and... --ratta

Yeah, I love fuzzy stuff. I can't find the message, now, either. Sorry. --ratta

Any chance it was message number 62930, 62949 or 63410? I can't search by message number to confirm this.

Nope... those were Jeff's, weren't they? This was a larger map, ratty fur, posted for someone specific. Naturally, I took it, anyway, because I'm a pig. Thanks, again, to the poster of the mystery fur. --ratta

Great image, and just the rat I'm looking for. (How much was he?) Has anyone managed to use the "cat-o-nine-tales" morphs to come up with a ratlike critter? The fur texture was posted in the last few days by 3DSpirit at Renderotica. http://www.renderotica.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12361&Form.ShowMessage=65187
