I've played with this as well, since I'm kinda new to using Poser with Bryce myself. Seems to be that the default ambient channel for the imported Poser object is set to black. By changing it to the same as the texture's and dragging the ambience slider up, that should help. Other than that, you could try ctrl-selecting different components of the imported object group and applying and adjusting materials in the same manner as you'd normally do in Bryce. Sometimes this is the way to go, especcially when it effects the color of things like the eye where you want to change the specular and reflectivity channels as well. Also, I second the use of fill-in lighting on Poser characters if the shadows or ambient lighting still doesn't seem right.

here is my problem. I have created a beautiful background in bryce which I have supplied here. And a rather nifty looking fairy in poser. I export the fairy as obj and import into bryce. I've figured out the trans map problems and such by scrolling through pasr posts but when the obj file is put into bryce it is extremely dark (almost black) no matter where I put it in the image. How can I "lite it up" so to say so it looks as bright as the rest of the picture? The sun is positioned late morning so to say in center of dial and I have softened and lightened all shadows. Please help! Also would like to hear suggestions or comments from all on the image. The door in the tree is gone for now and I have corrected the trees on the right so they look like the rest of them in background. Obviously no post work done yet.
