K... The image above is really simple. Assign a 2D Image Map to the diffuse slot. If you want to tile that image, reduce the U and V scales in the Image Map node properties. Assign a pretty high specularity, because you want the surface to reflect light. In the Reflection Color slot, assign a Reflect node. You'll find that at New Node -> Lighting -> Ray Trace -> Reflect. What to assign to the Color slot in the Reflect node depends on your scene. If you are using a background image, it's probably a good idea to attach an Image Map node to that slot so that your background will be reflected as well as the objects in your scene. Otherwise your background color is a good choice. If you want only a mild reflection like in my pic, set the Reflection Value down to something like 0.2. A value of 1 will give you a mirror-sharp reflection, and few real world objects have that. Make sure you turn on Raytracing in the Render settings, and see what you get. Hope this is helpful. I am not sure I'm describing things right. This is all new to me as well. :) Phoenix
Yeah, what PabloS said. :) I was definitely dropped repeated times. Maybe the words "Spalding" were on my infant t-shirt; I don't remember. And I hadn't even had a chance to start mastering Poser4 when my current application project was started (10+ hour days, 6 or 7 days/week for the past three months). Now this behemoth (Poser 5) stands before me, beckoning me with its new powers and alluring features. I must hand it to the artists who have provided such brilliant material already. How do dey do dat!? BTW, please point me to any Poser 5 "tutorials" posted here as I have just started collecting them for reference. I'll be on the look out, but there are a couple months of posts to search as well! Kuroyume

I need P5 tutorials. Although the manual is much better than its predecessor, it's not doing much for me. It gives me more "what" than I can comprehend. What I need is the "how." Reading info on the Materials Room for example. I can find what all those gadgets and features are but if I want nice reflective eyes, where do I start? (Why oh why did mom drop me on my head!?!) So as you folks that had their heads protected, as you figure this stuff out, I need "effects based" tutorials (especially materials). Some ideas for starters: How to make reflective surfaces (eyes, floors, etc.) How to translate P4 materials to P5 equivalents Transmap settings (hair, clothing) in P5 Getting the most out of Firefly (feel free to add more) Paul
