How would you like to win a copy of the EasyPose Wizard, or my upcoming stand-alone program, EasyPose Underground? Here's what you have to do: Post a render to this thread (ONLY THIS THREAD, PLEASE), showing a figure that you would like to turn into an EasyPose figure. It can be a figure you made yourself or one you have that was made by someone else, but you're more likely to win if it's one you made yourself. Don't use a figure that already has EasyPose or for which an EasyPose add-on is already available. If you do, your entry won't count. The other judges and I will look primarily at the extent to which your figure looks like it needs EasyPose. We will also consider how good your figure and your render look and how "cool" your figure is. Feel free to post a description of the number of body parts your figure has and why you think EasyPose would be good for it. The competition will close at midnight (by the Renderosity clock) on September 15, so get your entry in before then. The winners will be announced a few days later. 1st Prize - EasyPose Underground 2nd Prize - the EasyPose Wizard 3rd Prize - Your choice of the EasyPose Chains, the EasyPose Whip Pack or the EasyPose Tentacle.

To answer a question I was just asked, there will not be any restrictions on what you can do with the cr2s you make with these programs. You can sell them or distribute them for free as you see fit (remembering of course, that if you modify someone else's cr2, it's best to check with them before you distribute it).

let me get this str8....... this lil tool will enable people (like me, lol) who use something, lets say for example, creature creator, (a program that lets you creatue creatures w/ preset geometry) to create the mesh, and then have a fully operational cr2, posable character???? and, theres a contest here in this thread, that if i post images i want to use it on, i may win this lil gadget??????????? my z particles just went into flux......
Judith, Hiya! Didn't see you burried up there between my posts before. Atom, Nope, it won't build cr2s. You have to have one already. This is for EasyPose and general ERC setup in an existing cr2. Check out the EasyPose Tube in post no 2 to get a handle on what EasyPose is. Or take a look at the EasyPose tentacle in my store to see a diagram and description. Phillip, There are some big differences between Underground and the Wizard. The first difference is about $15 to $20 (Wizard = $20, Underground =about $35 to $40 depending on how much more work I wind up doing on it before I send it to market). The Wizard - Gives you your most useful basic dials: *TwistAll, BendAll, Side-SideAll and the Bef and Aft equivalents of all three are always installed and you have the option of also installing Spiral dials and S-Bend/S-SideSide dials. You don't get any control over how sensitive the dials are and only Spiral and the Ss are optional. * The interface is simple and easy and the tool will do what most people will want it for. Depending on how well it sells and what people ask for, I'll certainly consider adding extra features (like wave dials) into a version 2 with a free upgrade. Underground - All of the features of the Wizard, plus: *All dials are optional and you can change the name and sensitivity of every dial. *Wave dials with adjustable links per cycle for short or long waves. *Up to 5 Catenary dials (previously only found on my chains) with end angles specified by you. *The all new, never seen before, multi-scale dials which I imagine will rarely be used, but could get some very interesting effects on occasion. *Ability to decide between using valueParm masters, or targetGeom masters (valueParms are the standard for ERC but can't be saved in poses in P4, targetGeoms are null morphs and can be saved in poses if you tick the appropriate box in Poser). *Ability to add curve dials to each segment or to individual segments as you wish, independantly or with EasyPose. *Ability to use a central node. For example if your figure is a worm with parts worm1 to worm 25 and with the "hip" at worm15, you can put the node in worm15. You can't do that with the Wizard. *Dial management including the ability to create new valueParm/targetGeom dials or delete any type of dial and to change the internal name of any type of dial. *Full ERC editing capability, including the ability to set up an ERC relationship between one master and one or more slave body parts, with your choice of control ratio, the ability to delete a master dial and all of it's slave references, the ability to delete individual slave references or edit their control ratios one at a time, the ability to remove all ERC from a file in one go and probably some other things I haven't though of yet. *Some basic Cr2 editing functions, such as the ability to change the internal names of body parts, turn bending or shadows on or off for a selected group of body parts and probably some others depending on how much time I get and what I think of. *Ability to save your own personal settings and restore them at any time as well as restore factory settings or one of a couple of presets. Settings are also remembered between sessions. *Selectable multi-level warning and confirmation system to cater to everybody from temerous beginner to know-it-all expert. *Separate history page, just so you can check up on what exactly you've done to the file this session. *As with the Wizard, there will be a number of free upgrades, adding extra features as I think of them or as people request them. This is going to be my own personal main cr2 editing tool, so I'll be very interested in adding any feature I think I could use as well as ones that I get multiple requests for from customers. In a nutshell, the Wizard is cheap, easy to use and will do what most people are likely to want. Underground is much more powerful and will cater to experts or people who really want to do some heavy ERC work.

Wow! All these entries already. Thanks, everybody. I'm really pleased. It just occured to me that this is going to become a very slow-loading thread (D'OH! shoulda thought of that before). If future entries could be posted somewhere else, with just a link in this thread that would be great. Ratteler, Submitting a WIP is fine, but of course the better you can make your model, the better your chance of winning so if you can finish the model before the deadline, you'll have a better chance. FyreSpiryt, It's hard for me to say. I'm estimating a minimum of another two weeks of work for me, followed by about three weeks of beta testing. After that, the store will want to test it. They have a 7 day test period for models, but software tends to take a bit longer. Some time towards the end of October sounds realistic for seeing it in the store. I'm working on it at a furious pace now that all of the major hurdles have been overcome (big thanks to KattMan for helping me out when I was stuck and wanted to give up), but I just keep thinking of new features I want to add. All of the EasyPose already works but there's so much more I can do with the functions I've built. I'll have to be strict with myself and hold some of the ideas back for version 2 - otherwise I'll never finish. Owners of v1 will get the v2 upgrade free, even if the price goes up and I fully intend to do updates, augmentations and other Wizards for owners of the Wizard too - as well as making whatever modifications may be needed after I see what Poser 5 adds to the cr2 structure. Also, just as soon as Renderosity implements some new discount features in the store, I'll set it up so Wizard owners get a very good discount on Underground if they decide they want both. That depends on when Renderosity can do it though.

PS, Ratteler. Mate, is there any chance I could persuade you to post that pic again, cropped to 800 pixels wide, just so we don't have to scroll horizontally to read? I'm afraid I'm one of those 1024 by 768 monitor people ;-)

I've been dying to get this (link) critter to fold correctly... the model is in Poser now, but won't behave correctly. Details and images at link... (I'll be out of town until next Wed., though :) ) Regd's, /PPenguinisto, That's more of a general ERC thing than EasyPose but it does look like a great candidate for Underground's ERC functions. I'd say we can accept that as an entry :-) Ratteler, Thanks! But can I get you to delete the first post now (no. 19), so the thread goes back to fitting on my screen? ;-)

Well, the store testers got the Wizard through testing in less than 48 hours (Thanks guys!). I was expecting a few weeks, so if they do the same with Underground, that'll cut a few weeks off my estimate.

for exploiting the fact that I am a spoiled brat with no patience. Now both you and Kattman have a chunk of my money. Oh, and it's partly the store-tester's fault for getting through testing so quickly. ;P Seriously, I am a spoiled brat with no patience, so I went ahead and got the P-Wizard and the EasyPose Wizard, and the verdict is.... ::drum roll:: I LIKE it! It literally took me 5 seconds to make my first EP conversion in it. It took longer to go to the library in Poser and load it up than it did to convert it. I prefer a different control ratio than you, but it was no problem to go through with a text editor and change it. This is going to save me so much time, I'm going to be dangerous. *<:^]
ming, The Wizard is very easy to use. There are only three dropdown boxes and a go button to worry about. I agree that Underground looks intimidating because of all the options it offers. Using those options effectively means taking time to understand what they mean before you change them away from the default settings, but even reading up on the options is a whole lot faster and easier than doing any of this stuff by hand. For me personally, using either of these tools can literally turn a 40 hour task into a 30 second one. FyreSpiryt, Thanks for the sale! I'm glad you like it. In the Wizard I've slowed the control ratios down a lot from my previous products to give more control. Do you think they're still too fast or do you think they're too slow? If enough users want it, I'll implement adjustable control ratios in the next version, although I want to keep the interface simple and not turn it into the huge list of options you see in Underground. Ratteler, Thanks mate! That's perfect.

Hey rattler, I know there hasn't been any new plug-ins recently and that is partly due to P5 on the horizon. Let me give you a little preview: We all know P5 will use the Propack compression as a standard, so in order to get the wizards to work in P5 I have to add the compression library. The entire thing is looking for an update with the exception of the framework. For Ajax, yes, once I get the compression written you will receive it so you can add it to the EP wizard, no sence in holding any of the add-ons back in that aspect. There are many other ideas floating around on my drive for other wizards but I need to get the compression worked out first for obvious reasons.
Yep. I won't be taking away any P4 support either. The opening routine will just go by the file extension. If I have to modify any of the EasyPose routines to deal with Poser 5 cr2s, the programs will automatically detect the Poser version of the cr2 and work from there.

Hi folks! Sorry it's taken so long. With so many cool entries, we found it hard to pick the winners. Here are the results. 1st Place lesbentley We were impressed with the sheer variety of ideas from lesbentley . He has some crazy, interesting and imaginative ideas for how to use ERC and the things he talks about in his entry are very much in line with the sort of thing EasyPose Underground can do. Since EasyPose underground is all about finding interesting ways to use ERC, lesbentley wins first prize - a copy of EasyPose Underground. Congrats lesbentley ! 2nd Place noggin We felt that noggin demonstrated an excellent standard of modelling and texturing skills. noggin's chameleon sure looks like it could use EasyPose in that tongue and tail. noggin wins second prize. The second prize was supposed to be a copy of the EasyPose Wizard, but since noggin already owns that, I've decided to make his prize an upgrade to EasyPose Underground. Congratulations noggin! 3rd place ElectricAardvark We just couldn't go past ElectricAardvark 's wonder slug. It's just too cute! ElectricAardvark wins third prize. The prize was meant to be an EasyPose orginal figure from my store, but since I upgraded second prize, I haven't given away a copy of the EasyPose Wizard yet, so I've decided to upgrade third prize as well. ElectricAardvark wins a copy of the EasyPose Wizard. Congrats ElectricAardvark! As a small thankyou to everyone who entered, all entrants will receive a copy of my conforming forceshields. Sit tight and I'll IM each of you with download details over the weekend. lesbentley and noggin, you two will have to wait a little longer I'm afraid. I want to do another week or two of beta testing on EasyPose Underground before I finalise it. Once it's done, you two will be the first to get it :-)

I've just uploaded the EasyPose Wizard to the store, so once it gets through store testing (about two to three weeks) it will be available at $20. KattMan has a 25% off sale happening right now, so this is a great chance to get P-Wizard in preparation.View Ajax's Gallery - View Ajax's Freestuff - View Ajax's Store - Send Ajax a message
