How much do they weigh? :O)

geep ( ) posted Fri, 13 September 2002 at 9:50 AM

That depends on what "Scale" you use. ;=]

Thanks geep, Good to finally get some useful information in amongst all the poser 5 posts. Just so I'm clear on this. This is poser 5's own measuring scale, right? Not something you whipped up? mac

Is it true that the FireFly renderer adds 10 pounds to Judy's hips? Do those tight jeanz make her look fat? Where can I get a ruler to measure Don's "apparatus"?

"This is poser 5's own measuring scale, right?"

No.

"Not something you whipped up?"

Yes, I just "whipped it up" about 3 years ago.

It is a prop that I made in RDS (to scale - feet and inches) and then imported into Poser and I use it as a "standard." It seems to work pretty well for me. I'd be glad to send you a free copy if you would like. Just email me:

geep@cybertrails.com

This FREE offer is good for ANYONE who would like a copy of this prop. It is not available for d/l on the web because I do not have a web site.

cheers,
dr geep
;=]

P,S. The prop zip file includes a 12 foot scale and two metric scales, 1 meter and 10 meter.

And since you asked, mac, does anyone know where (or how) you use P5's alleged "feeet and inches" measurements? I have not found them. Haven't looked that hard for them, either. ;=];=]

OK dr geep, Now I understand. I thought this WAS the poser 5 measuring system. I'll take you up on the offer and mail you, since it would be quite useful to me to have some kind of stanard system to measure. As far as the figure height goes, I looked through the poser 5 doc (quickly) and couldn't find any reference to it. It'll be hidden away somewhere, no doubt. mac

Yup. "Scales are on their way to you. Enjoy. Anyone else? The zipfile is only 95K. cheers, dr geep ;=]

Dr Geep - seems to be a handy thing to have - I'd really appreciate your sending one my way. ;-)

geep ( ) posted Sat, 14 September 2002 at 1:50 PM

Will do, ron. Just send an email to: geep@cybertrails.com and I'll send one by return mail. cheers, dr geep ;=] P.S. I do it this way so all I have to do is "reply" to your email (with the prop file) and I don't get your email address wrong. ;=]

Heh heh, I knew posette could get under my doors, but it's nice to know the size of them. Now all I need to do is triple up the 1 metre prop to get a 3 metre one. thanks mac

geep ( ) posted Sun, 15 September 2002 at 2:23 PM

Just stack 3 of 'em ...(make sure they're aligned accurately) Then ... Export with all 3 selected, then "import your new 3M prop and save to library. ;=] P.S. after import, check to make sure that the "origin" is at 0,0 (before you save back to props library) or it will be more difficult to position it. ;=] (again) ;=]

Yup! That's exactly what I was going to do. After so many years in italy, I can't think in feet any more, and for a lot of this stuff, 3 metres is perfect. thanks again mac

geep ( ) posted Sun, 15 September 2002 at 6:04 PM

Do you have a website? I'd love to see some more of your "stuff." cheers, dr geep ;=]

Just for photos, geep. I designed a site during the web mania thing. LOL There's also a link on it to a second site which has a few old flash animation experiments, but some of the pages are poser prop pics. Unfortunately, not downloadable. I have 40+ free props at 3D Commune. Just search for maclean. mac
