Still waiting in the UK....

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 3:51 AM

I know Kupa said it was on it's way but that was some time ago, how did they send it, by rowing boat?

Not yet arrived in france too... Laurent

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 4:50 AM

to the Irish bloke, our copies of Poser 5 and a rowing boat, you did make sure he was on the right ocean didn't you? 'Cos if he's on the Pacific it's no wonder he got to Oz first.....

Anthony Appleyard ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 5:07 AM

In the international book trade it is the same. We better club together and buy a racehorse stallion and lease it to the book trade, so they can breed some more speed into their packhorses.

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 5:10 AM

if you stand facing the Pacific, Europe's behind you, quite a long way behind you.... (sorry, in back of you)

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 5:11 AM

I'm just wondering if the Irish guy's stuck out on the Atlantic somewhere with only one bloody oar....!

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 5:13 AM

this year, next year, sometime, never....

ilr ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 5:39 AM

If you didn't get it how long do I have to wait for it in Russia, Moscow? I got a promising message though that my P5 should be shipped this week.

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 5:49 AM

Hmmm, so if he's not arrived in Ireland, France or the UK but he has arrived in Oz and he'll be in Moscow next week... it's obvious! Anthony's right, he's taken the land route from the West coast with a bunch of pack horses and should be distributing, ohh... in about a month or so.... If he's a week East of Moscow where would that put him? Outer Mongolia, probably....

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 5:57 AM

I'm going to mount the nearest Welsh ewe and gallop over there.... (just preparing the ground for some Irish jokes)

Kelderek ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 5:58 AM

No sign of it here in Sweden. Order status is still "processing". The delivery date on the confirmation was set to 28th Aug, but I suspect that their order system defaults that date to order date plus a few days...

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 6:00 AM

Snap! Still processing and delivery date 28th August. We just have to wait until the Irish work out when that is....

ilr ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 6:01 AM

I don't know how they ship it. I hope I manage to live long enough... :-) Ok, let's be more optimistic. But seriously speaking I think they didn't prepare enough copies because they didn't estimate such a big number of copies being purchased the first day they started to ship it. Also people that preordered it...

ilr ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 6:08 AM

It's not so bad t all. We all will get P5 when its patch is ready. by this time everyone will have PC with CPU working at least at 5000 MHz with 10 Gb of memory. Sorry about bad jokes. I'm not patient enough.

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 6:12 AM

We'll get P5 when the Yanks get P6 and it'll probably be free on the front of a magazine somewhere....

BrianR ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 6:17 AM

I'm beginning to wish I hadn't pre ordered...I wouldn't be checking the status every lunch hour then & I could have spent the money on something that wouldn't go via the rest of the world first...I had the new version of tSpace almost as quickly as our American cousins...but then they shipped direct from California & probably by plane & not a pedalo with a one legged Irishman at the helm :O)

c1rcle ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 6:21 AM

saxon, mount a Welsh ewe? lol reminds me of that old welsh joke, "come to wales where the Men are real men & the sheep are worried", sorry to any welsh viewers. Hey it passes the time while we're waiting for poser5 to find it's way here from Russia. Some Euros have been getting their copies ahead of the rest of us, but they had a hand in the development of poser5 (content CD). Rob

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 6:41 AM

Bryan - oh god I hate to type it but ROTFLMAO Rob... or, come home to real fire, buy a cottage in Wales!

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 7:31 AM

The relationship between the Brits and the Irish is complex but mostly good natured. But, I will dunk my copy of P5 into a bucket of water just in case he's wearing his balaclava back to front....

Anthony Appleyard ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 10:11 AM

Phone Area 51 and hire a UFO. That will let us distribute Poser 5 real quickly.

thgeisel ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 10:12 AM

I ordered from a dealer here in germany, and been told, that the delivery will be end of next week. So maybe during next week,we will get our copies here in europe!

...with 'maybe' being the operative word... Mind you, if earlier this morning he was a week East of Moscow and now he's a week East of Germany, perhaps our one legged Irishman's been and got himself a bike! The thot plickens.....

rjghise ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 10:53 AM

I went to check on the status of my pre-order and had the shock of my life when I saw the price had gone up by 60 quid since I ordered! So I rang CL, they said not to worry as something is wrong with the web page, the price will be as quoted when first ordered. PHEW! Anyway, I asked when they expected to start shipping and the said hopefully on Monday or Tuesday :-( I hope I haven't depressed anyone too much. Rose

c1rcle ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 10:57 AM

As long as it turns up on the day they quote me I'll be happy :)

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 10:59 AM

Thanks Rose, I'll stop jumping up to look out the window whenever the dog barks, just in case DHL arrive... Didn't they say that it would be this Monday or Tuesday (hopefully) last week...

BrianR ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 11:26 AM

If our one legged Irishman's going by bike now then I hope it's got those huge inflated tyres you see along side the pedelos or he'll sink...then we're really buggered ;O) Thanks for the info Rose...you know when words such as HOPEFULLY & EXPECTED are being used that they usually mean "I have no bloody idea"....lol...BTW I ordered mimic last night & I'm thinking of running a little gamble as to what turns up first...the great software sweepstakes...you can get the DAZ shipment odds on fav but P5 is a great outside bet at 100-1!!!

starlet ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 12:45 PM

Hi Y'all, Wow, All I can say is, I am so sorry. First, let me apologize, we are SLAMMED right now...so Steve, Anthony and I have had little time to come check on issues here. If things are urgent, I sincerely encourage you to email us your questions directly and we will respond to them on a 1 on 1 basis, but please be patient. My reply times aren't exactly 30 seconds anymore. :) I will not be able to pop back into this thread, but Cooper has asked me to explain to you what happened and how angry and sorry we are. We had 2 bulk shipments of product that were to be sent from our US facility with 1 going to Ireland and 1 going to Germany to fulfill your orders. Somewhere in this process, there was a terrible freight mixup and they combined the shipments, reassigned a new tracking number and then continued to deceive us to the status of our shipments. We have spent days trying to find what has been going on and why our shipment had not arrived in Ireland so that we could send all of the orders placed by our European customers and distributors. The entire shipment arrived in Germany and an employee of EGISYS went and personally seperated them and arranged for the Irish shipment to be forwarded immediately. They should receive it and begin shipping orders on Friday and Monday with your shipments arriving soon after. Those who ordered through distribution will have a slight extra delay for the product to go to your distributor and then to you. I cannot even begin to describe the anger we are feeling at this time and how sorry we are to this community. We have been lied to and deceived throughout this whole process and are still trying to get to the bottom of the situation and get solid answers about what happened. This is why we haven't commented for the past few days. I wanted to give you accurate and complete information and it appears we now have it. We are absolutely crushed that this has effected you and hope that you will understand that this was absolutely not our error here or did we have any intention of keeping the product from you for this long. I can't say it enough, we are so incredibly sorry. Thank you for your extreme patience and holding off on sending nasty email...It has assisted incredibly in straightening out this mess! You guys are awesome. tori

c1rcle ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 12:53 PM

I know I should be really mad about it but that is just so damn funny you couldn't make it up, and I feel sorry for the poor sod who had to sort it out in Germany, I don't know about the others but I've been having fun just wondering where the boxes got to. It's given me more time to read the manual & see what sort of bugs are likely to be included. Thanks for letting us know what happened Tori & for spoiling our fun ;) Rob

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 12:54 PM

Ah, bless your heart! Thanks for updating us Starlet. Mind you I think I prefer our version of events. I'd grown rather fond of that one-legged Irishman taking the scenic route via Outer Mongolia on a pedallo/bike/pack-horse...

thgeisel ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 12:57 PM

thanks for keeping us informed!

starlet ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 1:18 PM

FINE! Tori's post forces me to confess the truth... We were serenely paddling our way through the South Seas when two unforseen events happened: The Irish bloke ran out of Guinness and a typhoon came up. Blinded and trembling from the precipitous drop in his blood alcohol level, the bloody chuffer lost his oar. In a fit of rage, I promptly chucked the entire Irish shipment overboard and used him for an oar. The storm blew itself out, as these things do, and I spotted a lovely tropical atoll through the lifting clouds. Exhausted, I altered course, barely making it to the beach before collapsing. Here I sit in a tropical Paradise with a dead Irishman, a missing shipment, and so damned far behind schedule as to face capital punishment at the hand of mobs of angry customers stoning me to death with Poser 4 manuals. I built myself a rather sizeable cottage out of Poser 5 boxes, fermented some cocunut milk, and pondered the mathematics of this situation: Keep going and face certain doom or use my last empty Guinness bottle and a torn off back manual cover to send you all this note saying that, with my regrets, I don't think I'll be going anywhere soon. I'd love to write more, but I've got several shrimp on my improvised barbie that need turning. Aloha! :-) Anthony H.

isaacnewton ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 1:36 PM

Thank you Tori for telling us what has happened. In fact guys, your version of what happened is not so far from the truth! First the shipment wenttoo far east, flying (I assume) over (some of) our heads to Germany (I can just see the Irishman waving at the plane! "Come back ye damned idiots. Ye should o' landed here!") Next the shipment will go whizzing back over (some of) our heads. Let's hope that they remember to land in Ireland this time or it could take another month or two. Damn, I feel like I'm watching Tennis fron the net... I'm getting dizzy! Hey Tori... do we get a discount for all the extra mileage on the clock? What amazes me is that this shipping company is still in business, they are so incompetent!

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 1:41 PM

c1rcle ( ) posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 1:52 PM

I managed to get signed on as wdupre earlier, but that was his error, 'rosity is really playing up today, maybe it was the Irishman ;)
