Sorry for going AWOL (sorry, sorry, sorry, Alpha & Mich!), I still haven't recovered from The Blue Screen of Death. My HD is dead and unrecoverable, I'm currently running on a very small spare HD I had kept for the longest time for posterity reasons. :-( Only programs I have right now (other than those bundled with my OS) are PS7, IE4 (I'm currently updating), my printer and scanner software. PATHETIC. And sad. :-( Oh, well. Obladi, obladah, life goes on...! Hope everyone is okay. :-) (*

Hope you didn't lose anything important. We've missed you.

Oh, actually Misha, I lost EVERYTHING. Nothing saved. At all. I've been to two repair shops and both say they can't fix it. :-( Well, let's see. I'm still hoping a third opinion will change my luck. (*

Maybe there's some hope (if the disk still runs and if you didn't try to hard to recover it); check out this nifty piece of software : http://grc.com/sroverview.htm I consider http://grc.com a must for every Windows user !

Oh shyte! That is awful.......hope you get it sorted out...let me know if there is anything you need...(besides a new 'puter).... I'm still trying to get my life sorted out on this side too, so that article while 1/2 way done is not nearly finished yet! Sorry.......guess at this point it's not that important...

I am, therefore I create.......

OMG Star! Thats bloody awful, you have lost it all. Have you no prints of your work? Is this a lesson for us all? Or are we all going to have to learn the hard way? Im not backed up, keep thinking of all the hassle of doing it, but maybe I might just go get it sorted, soon.

Oh Jovan!!! Sorry to hear this...as Ry said...this is not good, not good at all, you are being very philosophical about it though! (oblah de oblah da)...rushes off down the street to invest in "driveimage" or similar.... :-(>

Thanks for the sympathies, guys. I actually make it a habit to back my files up to cd at least once every 3 to 4 weeks. It's just that I have around 1gb of data (freehand vector files and psds) that I've been working on for two weeks now that I need to (and am supposed to) submit tomorrow. As for photos, I'm all film. So I'm safe in that department. In the next few days I will begin the gruelling task of rebuilding all that lost work... :-P (*

Hey Star!!! Sorry to hear about your computer problems...Hope ya get all the stuff you need back!!!! Believe my I can relate...that why I just did a backup of all my PIX this weekend...around 8 CDs full. One thing that makes it less of a chore is the 16X cd burner I recently installed... does a complete cd in about 4 minutes! My old 2x burner took almost an hour for 1 cd! (UGH)! L8r!
