I have been trying to register P5 via the internet, but the registration program keeps freezing-up and taking my comp with it. This has happened repeatedly over the past hour. Unfortuneatly I waited until the grace period was over before attempting to register, so now I have a non-functional program. SEEMS TO ME THAT IN VIEW OF THE FACT CL HAS CHOSEN TO USE THIS FKUT-UP REGISTRATION SKEEM, THE VERY LEAST THEY COULD DO IS MAKE 110% CERTAIN THAT IT WILL WORK ALL OF THE TIME FOR ALL OF IT'S CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PO'D AT P5 AGAIN.

Last senctence should read: "SEEMS TO ME THAT IN VIEW OF THE FACT CL HAS CHOSEN TO USE THIS FKUT-UP REGISTRATION SCHEME, THE VERY LEAST THEY COULD DO IS MAKE 110% CERTAIN THAT IT WILL WORK ALL OF THE TIME FOR ALL OF IT'S CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" NOT: "SEEMS TO ME THAT IN VIEW OF THE FACT CL HAS CHOSEN TO USE THIS FKUT-UP REGISTRATION SKEEM, THE VERY LEAST THEY COULD DO IS MAKE 110% CERTAIN THAT IT WILL WORK ALL OF THE TIME FOR ALL OF IT'S CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Sorry

Call them - I've never had problems they didn't fix as quick as they could.

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO USE THIS TOTALY FKUT-UP REGISTRATION PROCESS????????? OK. So after numerous more unsuccesful registration attempts, I finally get to the CL Registration page and the page and my computer freez again when I try to enter my old serial #. After 10 minutes and several recovery efforts with Stay Alive 2002 I am able to enter my old number and hit "next", whereupon the whole cycle repeats. I get to the page which gives me my Auth Response Code and which sys that my program should restart in a few moments. Whereupon I wait, and wait, and wait. Fearing the loss of one of my precious 1 of three response codes that CL grants by Grace alone, I continue to wait and wait and wait. All attempts at recovery fail. Then I read that if you use the manual registration process you can enter the response code manually. So I try to save the page, and as a backup I manually write on a sheet of paper the magical words: "FAT, RUNS, GUSH. BLAT, GAMS, BIB, DUB, WEIR..........." and I keep saying to myself this is someone's idea of a bad joke. So I exit my browser hoping to see a mannual entry dialogue - but nothing. So I restart the P5 and get the same register screen. HEY CL!! I PAID FOR THIS PROGRAM !!! YOUR THE ONE'S WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO JUMP THROUGH THE HOOPS!!! NOT ME !!!!

Just an observation: CL really seems to have a need to create many different forms within their web site to facilitate these types of occurances. (Think write once, reuse many.) That way, you could include a simple URL to the information/form and, since the person is online, it would facilitate quicker, more efficient communication with your consumers.

I agree with nighthawk.lol Why did they have to use that stupid registration scheme. I didn't like the sound of it the day I opened the manual and read about it. And of course as soon as I try to use it after installing Poser 5 it immediately decides it doesn't like my Poser 4 requested serial No. and tells me to call tech support. And another thing why did it need my poser 4 serial no. when it requested it before I could upgrade and give them my credit card to buy poser 5. Funny it worked to make the order. But not to get poser 5 registered and working for me. Unlike Nighthawk I had no problem getting into CL's site and getting to the registration page. My system is custom built and fairly powerful unfortunatly not powerful enough for poser 5 though lol. Oh and for all of you people out there saying well just call tech support...come on get real and get a life. We pay for a program have legit copy's of the real meta creations product earlier version and Curious labs version and when we cough up money and get a serial no., we still can't use it without going through some hocus pocus registration process that doesn't work and leaves us with vapor ware. Put a dongle on the darn thing if you think the program is that much sought after buy the warez peeps. I don't see why I have to go through so much trouble e mailing and phone calling someone to get my hard earned money to work for me. It should work right out of the box with serial no provided. Especially since they needed version 4's serial for the upgrade...duh sounds pretty simple to me......

Quark was smart enough to remove their idiotic copy-protection system in the new Quark 5-Release. 3D-Max R5 will greatly reduce their protection system compared to 3D-Max R4. It seems that Curious Labs will have to learn their lesson the hard way. I certainly won't buy Poser 5 as long as Curious Labs seems to invest more programming into their extremely idiotic protection scheme than in the programm they should have improved - which most certainly has already been hacked by someone, so our friends from the warez-community can use their P5 freely and without any problems. Thanks Curious Labs. You should start reading articles about copyright-protection and programm usability. You most certainly created one of the most annoying and useless copyright-protection-schemes available on the market. Legal users have one hell of a time getting their product registered and usable while hackers have no problems at all. Start investing your time in getting the programm to work correctly. Joerg
