I'm trying to make an intelligent decision about what inexpensive 3D app to buy. I used to like Ray Dream so I downloaded the demo of Carrara 2.0. What a nice clean looking program! Does anyone have an opinion of its usefulness for character animation? Is the bones system just added on or does it really work right? Btw: I own an old version of Max and just can't afford the upgrades anymore, I own A:M and can't stand the crashing so any other suggestions would be a big help.

pixelwks, you might also look at poser, but there's an AWFUL LOT of bug reports on it right now. (I haven't tried character animations in C2 yet - in time I will and would also be interested in what others have to say about C2 and character animations.) - TJ
