Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 22 10:18 pm)
My wife; who has no knowledge of Poser and only knows that I'm getting into this 3D hobby with all the 'nekkid people' in it ( :) ), chose Eve as the one that looked the most like a real person to her. In other words, unlike me she has no bias or 'personal interest'. She made the decision before I told her one of them was something I'd have to buy if I wanted it. Though she seemed to think both Eve and Millie were fine; but Posette she found flaws in. Myself... I find parts of Millie to be too flat. Like her buttocks and the curve of her back. But I like how smooth her skin stays as she bends. But her face is really getting to me. In the sitting side views they all seem to have enormously long necks. Like a pack of Giraffe's or something. :) That's a comment on all three of them. A morph for anyone of them to make a shorter neck would be great. And removing those footbal shoulders from Millie would be cool. Did that morph already come out? Her shoulders are just so wide...

http://mercury.spaceports.com/~traveler/evestuff.html 'Yarp' posted a 'corrected cr2' file for her, I have it but I can't find a URL to it... the readme gives this URL: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Board/3896/ and the file is: newevolutioneve.zip so combining those might yield something...

A question, since I just downloaded EVE just before I put together the comparison. Does EVE have the same problems with no conforming clothes? I did notice she also is split up quite differently than the P4NF. Allerleirauh. I've been working on facial morphs, I'll see what I can do for the Body morphs you asked for and post that. I do agree Vicilli needs a bunch of tweaking here and there, but I really did buy her for the extra verticies. Which give a ton more oppourtunities to mold her. James
Sherlock, - My take on the Eve model- Torino redesigned the P4 Posette with some new geometry and joint parameters to make some of the parts, particularly around the hip and shoulders, bend in a more natural fashion. Traveler added some further revisions, and I believe he adapted Hellborn's redesigned hip to get the Eve-WWG figure. Although clearly a superior model, -- & free! -- the improvements meant that the existing morphs, maps, & conforming models were not compatible. The abundance of material available for the P3 & P4 figures has (IMHO) tended to limit Eve's use, primarily, to more experienced users who appreciate the differences and can deal with the incompatibility problems. (Ironic that the failure of Eve to become more widely accepted could be blamed on the likes of Traveler & tlaubach for all the wonderful stuff they gave us for the P4 Posette) ...and some of us Luddites are still having problems giving up our P3 models. I don't think this bodes well for Millie.
I've been using Eve extensively since face morphs work like a charm, pretty satisfied with all the other morphs that came out for her to and with some scaling she is the most realistic I've seen. Just a side note: I have been able to clothe her, haven't tried with everything but the dresses with Poser work with slight tweaking in the breast area and some items from Steve Shanks' Poserworld CD. Funny how Millie had to come out for some to discover Eve?
Looks like Victoria was based on a fashion model body. I don't like the hip - it is too long and pear shaped and the waist line is too high. They got rid of those thighs bulges and improved the side shape, but the front/back view is far from the ideal. They also shortened the thighs at the expense of the longer hip. It seems that knee joints improved a lot. I believe that we'll need much more morph work with Victoria than with Eve, to achieve an ideal body for nudes. On the other hand, a high resolution mesh will allow much more diversity and control for the morphs.
Two things I noticed in the comparisons about Victoria: In the top view, her knees looked too squared off. I thought the other two had more realistic knee caps. In the one where they were sitting with their arms bent, although Victoria's arm was long enough for her hand to reach her chin (and the others' weren't), I noticed that her elbow folded in on itself, causing a flap of skin to overlap. I also noticed that giraffe effect with the necks, too. Interesting study, James. It gives us something to consider while making up our minds to buy her or not. Thanks for the comparisons. Melanie

Ok I agree that my first comparison pics were a little bias. So I decided to do a fair test. This way you can look at many more aspects of the figures and compare yourselves. They have no textures, no morphs, just straight out-of-the-box figures. There is no finese to the figures. all rendered with default settings. I also did not include facial pictures, because I'd wander into the realm of texture maps, which we know can make or break any figure. This is just a general comparison. But this will give you a much better over all feeling of all 3 models. Go look and come back here and comment (sorry no feedback on the site) Hope this helps anyone left who is still in the middle. James OK one biased opinion: Look at the shoulder blades and collar bones, Victoria Rocks there.
