Subject: Only 3D accepted in Halloween Contest?

cynlee ( ) posted Mon, 07 October 2002 at 10:58 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 10:40 PM

"Any and all 3D programs can be used." I'm assuming the Halloween Contest is not open to photography, nor 2D? I'm posting here cuz I really don't want to cause a ruckus, I was just wondering. The Halloween contest over at 3DC is open to all, including 2D & photography. http://www.renderosity.com/contest.ez?contest_id=126

Well good question... Sorry I didnt include you guys but read below.... Let me see...all of the Prizes are for 3D Programs and folks in 2D and photography would use Curio's Dragon in Paintshop or Photoshop when it is a Poser figure?Or how about Calebs spider or even Kromekats Texture pack?I do agree that they might be able to use my clouds or even ToxicAngels Postwork tutorial for PSP or PS other then that I cant see why Photography would want to get involved when all they have to do is IM the administration at Renderosity about haveing a contest all you would have to do then is come up with prizes as for 2D they are in the same Boat as Photography...I did not mean to exclude these programs and I am sorry...I will include them in the winter themed contest I want to get going for December if I get the approval here...Now as for the contest running past November 1st is because we got a late start and we decided everybody will have a little more time to finish their Halloween project...So I am sorry if people are offended that they werent included in the contest but I cant see them useing the 3D Prizes....And this is the only reason I did not include you guys....

Well- I don't know how many others here are just getting started in Poser & other 3D programs & use the photography gallery because it's something they know already & can excel at, & still be a part of the community while they learn the other programs. Most of us have more then 1 or 2 graphic apps. & could probably use the 3D prizes.

foleypro ( ) posted Mon, 07 October 2002 at 8:40 PM

Then by all means enter the contest it does state all 3D Programs and if you have a 3D program then you are set... I didnt mean for folks to get upset...In my mind I just couldnt see how you would use the 3D prizes and I am sorry... How about getting together some prizes for a contest for Thanksgiving just for 2d and Photography users

looks around to see if anyone is upset nope- no upset folks here, like I said...I was just wondering...

Cyn, you rule! You totally took the words right out of my mouth :D On top of having Vue d'Esprit4, both Bryce5 & 4, Photoshop6 & 7...then there's Poser! Which sadly enough Poser5 isn't available for my OSX. Versatility, it's the key to happiness.

well foleypro, there was a contest a few months ago for the 2D forum which had some killer prizes: Zbrush, Expression 2, Aurora, Studio Artist Pro, Deep Paint, etc, but it has come and gone, and the moderators have decided "NEVER AGAIN!!!!" Apparently, life sucked when doing that cont3est, what with old slynky complaining incessantly about not recieving his prize... which he finally did get, wahooooo. btw, Punkclown, don't read this, heh heh. as for the 3D prizes, I could sell'em again, otherwise no value to me personally.
