By all settings do you mean Wire frame, shaded etc? Remeber that there is the render settings for the objects like render as document type. I'm at work so I don't have it in front of me. But it sounds like sillouette is selected for the figure or document type

hhhmmm i have it on texture (full tracking)i do all my stuff on this, ill do some looking tho...

k, i checked and i do have the document setting set to full shaded (or whatever) (ctrl-9), and the tracking to full. nothing yet, still just a blk sillouette (2d at that)

Sorry if this is obvious, but have you checked the that the lights are pointing at the object, and the distance falloff/angle falloff settings make sense? If you're using a library light set, is the main figure actually at the centre of the scene (where any spotlights are most likely focused). Bill

Can you post a screenshot of your material settings?

TalleyJC ( ) posted Mon, 07 October 2002 at 12:26 PM

Check the figure rendering also... The document and figure should match.... also check to see if your texture map is plugged in in the materials room.... with no texture the figure might render as black.

Hey I got my machine to render black stuff and it was because the camera was below the ground.......not that this is your problem...but I puzzled over my screen until I figured it out.....clue it renders the same in poser 4 as in the firefly....:-)

ok, still have problems...in p4 renderer, i have to check ignore shader textures in order to get a render. the tex maps are all attached where they should, be, and the document and figure setting do match, light sets are not the problem... im stumped, but can get the p4 renderer to work just fine. but on the setting that works, ff still renderes 2d black on the figure.....im stumped. maybe its a video card issue, setting, or something...i have a geforce 4 (msi) 4200 w/ 128 megs.....any more ideas?
