Got an email from a visitor to my site asking for some help with Poser2 - and since all I've used is P4, I'm totally clueless! Any of you "old hands" know of any P2 sites/tutorials I can steer him to? (Or maybe I should just recommend an upgrade, LOL) Thanks, Sweet

If you could post the question here its possible that someone may know. Would love to help if we can.

Well, duh, I should have thought of that, LOL! ;-P (this is in reference to a tutorial I have for adding makeup, tattoos, etc. to existing skin textures using PSP) "Anyway , I have Poser 2 and my "skins" are very flat , with virtually no texture , I haven't tried to manipulate them yet . I was wondering if there is a site that u would recommend for my version(POSER 2) to give me more options or more of a headstart if u understand what i mean . Also how should I save my work for poser to recognize ?" (as for saving it, for PPP, I'd just save it as a jpg, but I have no idea what P2 will use) Thanks! :-) Sweet

GregC - www.cyberpiggy.com - might have some P2 stuff. Greg did the texture maps for the mech-like figures that came with Poser 2, and I remember he had some downloads on his site, but that was a long time ago... Bump maps will help with the "flatness" of the skins. I've still got my P2 boxed copy, I remember rushing to the store before closing time to get it - it was way cool back then! You can still do a lot with it, with a little imagination and ingenuity!

Oh, almost forgot - open the Poser 2 textures or texture templates in a paint program.(Paintshop Pro or Photoshop, one that will let you do layers). With some tweaking, you can overlay some newer textures like from free stuff or the Marketplace onto them and see how that works. Hope this helps!

Poser 2? You mean those figures that look like clay? That was my first version and I'm sorry to say I threw it out. It's probably a collector's item now.

Poser 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Pro 2014, 11, 11 Pro

I'd stir him to someplace like Ebay to find a copy of Poser3...this won't be stepping on anyones toe as Poser3 has been offered free on several magazine coverCD's(ComputarArt magazine in the UK may still have some for a small shipping charge).Still some nice things to be found on the net. for P3...gotta get Ultra Morph Woman & Man by Confusius. Most important is alot of things found in tut's for Poser4 can be applied to Poser3.

Thanks, y'all! Silver's suggestions can at least keep him busy in P2 for awhile, and I'll steer him towards an upgrade, at least to P3 - he seemed really excited with what I was doing in P4, and I know he can't hope to accomplish anything like that with what he's got, so maybe between frustration and inspiration, he can be coaxed into the 21st century, LOL! I just knew this was the place to come for answers! :-)
