Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 08 10:28 pm)
Nice work! - Did you render these with the Firefly engine or the P4 engine? Have you noticed that textures in firefly seem to lose a lot of detail and look much better when rendered with the Poser 4 renderer? Just wondering if anyone else is having problems getting good textures in Firefly renders or if its just me.
Firefly is actually not a bad renderer once you get used to its idiosyncracies. I found a bug in it today, though. Raytraced shadows cause serious artifacts on background shader nodes. To get the full benefit of it, though, is going to take some time. I guess I'm just patient. I learned to export a .rib file from P4 and render it in BMRT, so I guess I can learn a new renderer with procedural shaders in P5.... I've actually had a couple of things come out rather nice once I turned on depth of field and got it set up.

I actually am starting to believe that Firefly is really BAD for UV textured items and good for items using shaders without UV mapping.
