You just use the same uv map but you only color the eyes or lips in the colors you want...then you choose that map for that body part. In other words you go to lips and choose your map, (say you called it red lips), that has the red lips on it. You don't have to paint the whole map, just the lips portion of it. Marque
It has to do with material grouping you can go into poser and set up different material groups then you can create a different map for each group if you want in UVmapper, and save the new mapping coordinates to your .obj file. sombody who sets up figures regularly can probably give you more detailed information, or I'm sure theres a tutorial about it somewhere, perhaps you can start at the uvmapper.com website.
I have tried it with UVMapper but you can only have one map per UV cords & you have to save the OBJ file with the new cords. If you change the map you have to save the OBJ file again. I suspect it is as AFAIK says I need the wings to be seperate objects which means they each have their own map. Ive tried it in the setup room in P5 by importing then as seperate objects but at the moment I can
t seem to get them to become one figure. Have to keep on this path. Thanks for the assistance.
Kingfisher. You might want to take advantage of UVmapper's "regions" option. 1.)load your butterfly.obj file 2.)Hide everything except the wings 3.)re-size and re-mapp the wings to your likeing 4.)assing the wings to a new region 5.)save the new texture as new name like "wings" 6.)save your .obj file with same name as original (to update the chages) When you open the new "wings" texture in a paint program. you'll see all the other parts too. But you can erase them then texture the wings the way you want. Then open the figure in Poser and assign your new "wings" texture to the wings of the figure. As long as your wings have a material assigned to them. You don't need them to be a separate object. You can repeat this as many times as you want. Do each wing separately,etc.. But I think you should be able to obtain good enough results for both wings if they take up the same texture map on their own separate from the body texture map. The regions option is a very powerful, under-used option in UVmapper. ScottA

I can create a texture map for my new figure with UVMapper. But how do you create additional maps i.e. they have the usual one of the main parts of the body but also close ups of the face,eyes etc. and they are on different texture maps. How do they do that? Any ideas?
