Don't have much experience? Look at me.. I've seen your hoverboard. that's nice.. I'm still new at modelling.. have you even seen the models on my page? =) Of course, Rhino is really quick on the pickup.. though I'd like to pick your brain a bit on some fine points.. or perhaps Traveller.. He's got experience with Rhino.. Rosh
Sure anytime... :) Meanwhile I've managed to layout the shape for this spear head but I'm trying to give it the proper depth. I don't want to just "extrude" the shape but rather give the lower half a rounded feel to it since it will no doubt have to be to fit on the handle end and that rounded end should then sorta taper up into the point while keeping the shape of the spear head...make sense? Basically I'm trying to do it right instead of wrong...it's the only way I'll learn hahaha...
Actually, it's a dagger blade... But yes, your strategy does make sense... my first version of the model I hadn't really planned on how it should look exactly.. I just used extrude to point above and below the shape.. not quite what I wanted, but interesting result. I'm working on a second draft right now, and I'm pretty much leaning towards your basic approach. Rosh
Here you go... I dragged it into bryce for a quick render.. didn't even smooth it. Just added a nice reflective material.. you may need to play with the bottom part to match the width of the top, no problem at all. Hope this helps. Get it here. 360k zip file... If you'd prefer it done another way, please let me know. Rosh
HEHE...yeah I learned not to open my mouth about trying something unless I am SURE I can do it..hehehe... I'm definitely going to practice that shape though..I do want to figure that out. I want to make it with some depth the way Rosh (you don't mind I calls ya that do ya?) does on his. It gives it a bit more realism than just extruding ya know? PAN~ federation-21.com
