Phil, You asked for more dress ideas, making use of the abilities of P5. How about this, from my own stash of patterns? I'm a bit (ahem) on the tall side, so do a lot of sewing. I just had a birthday (woke up, but didn't feel a day older, and certainly not 52). This is what a mature, intelligent woman thinks is devastatingly sexy. Your mileage may vary. Those Forumites who prefer lean huntresses or Diana-types might agree. This is not a dress for bubble-breasted go-go girls, so the younger male Forumites probably won't care for it, however. The back has straps which cross in an X, from shoulder to waist and I can help with any other construction details. The "sleeves" are strange, but very neat. I'm planning to make version C in pine-green fuji silk (so the sleeves won't drift, but pour). Among the recommendations is chiffon (the dress is lined), so you could go for a more fairy-like look with sheer glittery stuff if desirable. Note that I use "stuff" correctly. ;^) Continued next message. :)

Don't know about Phil, but I would love to see someone do a dress like that. In fact I am sure I recognise that pattern as one I have used in the past. Can't wait to see what Phil will come up with.

Phil, if you're in need of ideas, I'm looking for a slip for Judy. Not too short but not too long, about an inch or so below knee length, thin straps and v-neck. ;)

Hi here is the first run mesh hope you like it. so far just the left most halter no sleves. color only added no poset work sept to clean up neftis hair forgot to run the hair sym :/ Mesh still needs a bit of tweeking to help the cloth sym to deside where to start the folds when draping. used judy for this body is stock porportions (oh my err her acking back LOL) Laters Vel

Good job Velen :) PhilC, I think the sleeves are not sleeves, that's just a drape thingy that had been draped on her arm, which can be done in clothified state if you give it enough polygons. watching closely :)

Wow! :chuckle: No back, no sides, front plunges down almost to the waist... they must think it's interesting enough ;^) Velen, You've got the easy one! :) The halter top looks right. It would be great if there could be some gathers under the bust. It also gathers at the back of the neck, but that isn't as important. I haven't had a chance to work with this yet, but Joe Grover said something about fixed points when he was showing how to add fluidity to a flag. Can the waistband be "fixed" in place, so that the sway of the garment comes from the hips? What you've got is real graceful, and also has potential for nightwear with the right textures. Thank you! :) Phil, Pretty close on the drapey thing, and you pounced on the hint of a train in the red one. :) The drapey sleeve whatzit is unusual... which is why I bought the pattern. The drapes attach to the bodice fronts. They are flat panels except for a short bit of closure which allows them to function as a sleeve if the arm has been inserted. There is nothing linking the shoulders in Version C. I'll sketch the back, too. The sides really are bare... the bodice connects about an inch in front of the side seams. The front does plunge all the way to the waistband. I need to get a couple hours sleep (Skrogg just came in) and some aspirin, and then I can decipher the pattern with clear eyes. thanks it was fun :) I did a x back also and yes to the fixed points i was trying to see if i could use stressing to get the gatheres and there by reduce the total requiered number of pollys. the sim thow with out a lot more playing on my part dosent look like it will do it. so will have to model the gather into the dress or texture it in if it is nodeled in will have to remove the points from the sym for tacking this works but for a full area hmmmmm,,,, would think it would change and make the drape un natural.. I knew Phil could do the main one you where asking for :) and as this was adressed to Him i left it alown :) love Your work Phil :) the X back makes a grat nighty :) and done short would be a great tedy :) wish i had a way to host these id put them up as freebies. any takers for that ?
